Will I get more discount/better deal if I order 2019 X5 in September?

Hi guys,

m located in Bay Area, California. What percentage of discount off MSRP in this area if you purchase all by cash? if i wait toward second half of the year, say August, sept, Oct. is there further discount for model 2019 X5, by how much?
I got my 2018 X3 for 12.6% off MSRP in April.
Now considering a 2019 X5, and wondering what % off the MSRP usually get for second half of the year.

Many thanks!!!!

You will have to choose a car on the lot. If you want to order it will be a 2020.

You might get a better deal on a lot car later this year, but I gotta tell you, I’ve watched the cars on dealer lots near me, and those cars don’t last long. This is a very popular car.

My dealer, however, has one no one wants. The exterior is that awful sunstone color. It is the car I test drove. The color is sort of a sparkly beige. Can’t recall the specs, but it is at IG Burton in Milford Delaware. I think it is priced around $67, so it has some options. You can look it up.

Someone will get a great deal on THAT car, for sure.

So, you may be faced with buying a car no one wants, to get a really great discount. Even a non-optioned vehicle has a lot of the fun tech in iDrive, but my guess is that they are slow sellers. I’m not sure you would be happy with your choices off the lot. Depends on how picky you are.

Another thought - if you want to build a car, you might get a good discount if you order a 2019 in July. My guess is that sales will slow down due to all the people waiting for a 2020 build.

Discounts are as good or better on custom orders with this car. I don’t think it matters much in terms of the dealer profit. More important for them to keep their numbers up, particularly during a difficult month. I’m sure they aren’t looking forward to July at ALL.

Last week I received offers in the Bay Area for 10% off msrp on a custom order 2019 - no financing, just cash. Not sure what % off they will offer next month for a 2020 build. Another thing to consider is that a 2020 will be about $5k more valuable than a 2019 due to age alone in the pre-owned market. Other ways to derive a further discount are:

1.BMWCCA Member discount $1000
2. Finance incentive of $2500 if you finance a minimum of $7500. I believe you can simply pay off the $7500 on you first 1-2 months without penalty.

The finance incentive is $2,000, but they usually tack on $750 if you are a new bmw buyer or repeat buyer.. so, just about everyone.

You have to make four payments, I believe, then you can pay off the entire loan when you want.

It is simple interest, so if you pay more each month, the $$$ amount of total interest goes down. You don’t pay interest if/when you pay off the loan (ie no payoff fees that I know of). .

The BMW owners online account will show you all the details of your loan, payoff amounts, etc.

Ya, I know it’s awful. If you are color blind you can prob get a smokin’ Deal on it tho. It’s been sitting on the lot for at least three months, based on the serial number.
