Actual HP/TQ for X5 40i
I was reading this (https://jalopnik.com/dyno-test-revea...que-1835649742) article and it states both the Supra and Z4 (both use the B58) are putting out substantially more TQ than advertised. I wonder if the same is true for the X5. Has anyone dyno'd their car?
I do find it surprising how fast the X5 is (0-60 in 4.8-4.9) compared to cars with similar HP and weight (Q7, etc.). I think BMW has a habit of under reporting the power of their cars intentionally. I don't know why though and certainly won't complain.

This is nothing new, BMW has done this for a long time now. The 50i is making the rated HP/tq at the wheels if not more, I have no reason to think the 40i wouldn't be too. My X3 M40i made about what the Z4 M40i does at the wheels if I recall from other members taking theirs to the Dyno.
