At some point last year, I lost my SA without notice. I wish I could remember the process, but I found a way to get one of the best SAs at my dealer. Perhaps I talked to one of the salespersons I know.

I am currently in China and woke up this morning to changes in my July 1 appointment. Among the changes was a new SA assigned to my appointment, someone I do not remember from any kind of interaction at the dealer.

Unlike the four previous X5s, I am frustrated with the list of issues for my appointment and do not need a SA to get it wrong or to tie up my car indefinitely while they experiment. I have started turning in a front and back page of notes to guide the SA and service manager and that seemed to help with the last major episode.

What rules of engagement are in play when searching for a new SA? Please note this is complicated by being in China and not having many opportunities to call anyone at the dealer.

I'm in the same situation! I texted my SA last week and he said he had just been let go. It was nice to be able to call or text my SA directly, and now I've got to start all over again.
