07/22 software update

So I recently updated my G05 with the recent upgrade using ISTA but i haven't really noticed much changes and was wondering if anyone noticed anything. The only thing i sensed was a slight change in how the steering is calibrated.

Maybe someone with OTA software updates can share the change log.

Usually they release OTA updates with a quarter delay so it's gonna be a while.

aha, that makes sense. No wonder i couldn't find any threads about this recent update. Seeing what i go through to update my software every time, its truly a luxury to start the car and have it update itself while I'm driving.... what a life

(as opposed to being in diagnostic mode while its 45C outside)

The cars features are surely held back without connected drive enabled. I'll wait for others to chime in.

Got dealer upgrade for this, havent noticed any differences yet. No release notes would be nice to have but they basically said nothing.

Got 07/2022.33 yesterday for the Sunroof recall. Too early to tell if there are any differences but given this late in the iDrive7 life cycle I would imagine updates mainly contain fixes rather than enhancements.

That may be the last OTA that they released, not sure if 11/2021.xx ever went to OTA. There is an SIB on vehicles not receiving OTA's, you can always see if your dealer will update you.

I'm looking in the my BMW app and the Remote Software Upgrade section says the latest software version 11/2021.50 is installed.

Seems like that isn't the latest one then? If not, how does one go about updating to the latest version? Is that something only a dealer can do?

I received 03/2022.52 remotely two months ago. This was about a month after I took delivery.

The OTA software is always at least one major version behind. You can get the latest software at your dealer but unless there is a problem it is fixing then you will likely have to pay them to do it.

I got the same for the same reason a few weeks ago. Haven't noticed anything special. I was on 11/2021 from a previous dealer update.

Steering wheel height memory is still not working automatically (still have to press memory button after a few start ups).

Although, my regional maps finally updated (were stuck on 2020-2) and remote start via the app is working again.

An update may not hit all areas of the software, and not all vehicles have the same functionality, or the modules may be different, so it doesn't necessarily need the same level. Personally, I'd prefer to get the latest on a more regular basis. Mine is on 07.2021, and to get that I had the dealer install it. THey said they found some onboard errors that prevented it from getting an OTA update, and I expected to get at least another OTA update, but so far haven't. In two years, I've gotten two OTA updates, and one at the dealership. I sort of expected to get one to update the sunroof logic, but it does not show up as a recall at least on the NHTSA website. It'll be going in for it's second annual oil change in September...maybe then.

I have 07/2022.33 on my G21 (by dealer) and I lost TLA and UCC functions which I had previously successfully enabled

it seems that BMW has eliminated some parameters expected up to firmware 03/2022

I hope I'm wrong and that they just masked these parameters

On the bmw.co.uk site for G31 and G05 models TLA function is available on driving assistant professional
