if damage to the seat-side port is your main concern, may consider a 90-degree magnetic USB C adapter. we use them in all our MacBooks for charging. note they tend to be average quality where the pins may bend or break but no overheating. they usually come in pairs (still cheaper to replace than the port in the seat)

It would work great to connect usb c to iPad Pro from the center console. This is my set up on the F15 X5. But we also use the same tablet holder for my daughter on our iX.

The fact that you can adjust the height of the display and rotate it. It is the official BMW tablet holder and directly fits the iPad Pro 12.9 with folio case…hardest part is connecting the cable. LOL, this takes care of that. However, iPad lasts almost 8-10 hours easily playing steaming movies…so charging is usually not needed.
