Flooded cars at SC port

Just read an article about cruise passengers returning the their cars to find them flooded;

https://www.cnn.com/travel/carnival-...ars-charleston

Am I right in thinking that this happened to a shipment of BMWs some months ago?

My 50e has been sat on the SC dock between 19 Nov - 14 Dec and is finally at sea, My question is; where can I find out if there have been tidal/storm surges etc. at the port for a given period?

Thanks in advance

Yes, it definitely did happen during hurricane Idalia to vehicles waiting to be shipped. Many are still being looked at, repaired, etc. We have not heard about any other incidents at the port. If one does occur, BMW holds the vehicles and makes sure there is no damage.
