In reality though people tends to get better highway mpg on ICE (closer to 23-24), hence the 450 number. |

I'm just plugging into my 110v household outlet, initially was set at 6 amp max and I adjusted to 10 amps after seeing how slow the 6 amp charging times were. Will likely upgrade to a level 2 charger after the new year…I already have a 220v outlet in my garage. Most of my driving has been 30-45 min drives in hybrid mode. 97 miles of electric only, according to the trip computer. 28.6 avg MPG. Worse then I expected to be honest, but nearly every drive has been long enough to fully drain the battery.

We picked up our X5 with a full tank and full charge at a dealership 600kms (370 miles) from home, drove it home and still had ~250km (150 miles) range left. That was all freeway driving, averaging 120 km/h (75 mph). That was in Hybrid comfort mode the entire way, with two stops along the way.

No, it was a "Drive Your Brand" vehicle (one of the dealership employees had leased the vehicle for 4 months), so we technically purchased it used. It wasn't optioned exactly as we wanted it (no Adaptive cruise, no massage seats, and no Merino leather), but it was a good deal and being a 2021 model we still get the 4-year factory warranty and the 4-year service plan (they've changed those terms in Canada to 3-year warranty and 3-year service plan for all 2022+ models).

Anyone use the battery hold mode in this type of application to keep recharging as you drive? |

Do you get 31 miles for a charge? I only get 22-24 maybe because it is cold in New York.

My experience is based on two years now with a Lincoln Aviator plug in hybrid. ( The wife is getting the 45e to replace her Q5) Plug in Hybrid mileage will vary based on how it is driven and it can be an extremely wide swing. My wife drove my Aviator for three months and used one tank of gas over 1100 miles. The app said she got 153 MPGe. I'm hoping for similar if not better results when I pick up her 45e. Her commute is only 7 miles round trip. My work commute is 42 miles round trip and I have averaged 50-60MPGe over the past two years. I charge every night. During rain or snow, I use my 2006 X3 as it is old and weathered already, so the Aviator stays clean, so I don't have adverse weather data. Towing (5200lbs) MPG, was around 14MPG. I will definitely be updating the comparison.
