x5 build status

I have been monitoring my build It went from ready for production to at the port in one week I live in Seattle Washington I thought they ship by train not boat are am I interpreting that wrong

Yes, you are interpreting it incorrectly. The do ship by train to the West Coast. In addition to being the place where the accessories are installed, At The Port will also occur during the journey both in the KC rail yard and at your end destination.

BMW apparently uses "Port" to mean "any transfer point". So for most of North America (no idea about Alaska or points further south) this appears to mean a train yard.

They ship by train. Port denotes a hub, or VPC. After one week I would imagine your car has arrived at the KC rail yard. It will move to in transit again and then go back to at port when it arrives at the Renton VPC. Then one more truck hop to the bmw dealer.

For my car it took 3 weeks and 4 days from production day (August 11th) to Bmw Seattle
