Awesome thread for me now . M pro suspension is not optional for me. Which one is more sporty, M adaptive or 2VR air 2 axle? Thanks

2 Axle air suspension use question

Does 2 Axle air suspension allow you to lower the car while parked to assist a disabled person to enter?

Welcome to the forum. You can lower it to loading level when parked.

If I lower mine when I park it will not stay in that position when I return to car - it automatically goes back up to a less that low status. Lots of complaints about this in the forum with no fixes yet available. You may possible lower it again before getting in with the mybmw app but that's a waste of time. It's the one thing that I really dislike about my 45e.

I have no issues with my '22 45e staying in the lowest position upon my return to it. Stays in the position no matter if I haven't driven in days as well.

I have a MY 21 45e, and lower the suspension when I'm going to be getting my folding trike out of the back as it's a little easier getting it back in...it stays down for me.

What some would like is an automatic way to lower the suspension, but that does not happen and does not appear to be a codeable option. You can lower the air suspension either from the switch on the center console, or from the switch on the lower hatch. Note, it won't go down with a door open. I think that might be because of a potential high curb that the door might crunch into. It likely assumes if you drove there, there's room for it to go lower, but it's not guaranteed with the door open.

in my 45e, i noticed if default drive mode is Hybrid, it would randomly rise from Load level, but if default drive mode is Electric, it would stay in Load level. what drive mode is your default?

My default is Electric. Never had a different default drive mode, as 90% of our driving is within 10-15 non-highway miles of our house, so just left it as Electric after being setup at PCD.

If I do highway miles I'll switch to Sport.
