My SA just called. It’s another STOPSale due to Airbag.
BMW NA advised them they probably will not have the parts in time for my 12th September PCD. What a bummer … |

FYI, it is another STOP sale related to air bag and no estimated time. Probably will not make PCD in 2 weeks. The recommended that I take the PCD day or getting a coupon for a later day and they recommend that I take a new allocation which just became available. Or to wait until parts are available and a fix applied. I will meet with my SA/CA later this afternoon and have to decide if I want new allocation and wait another 4 to 6 weeks or wait for the fix of the second STOP sale ... Will keep you posted regarding the outcome after in person meeting this afternoon ... |

Well damn. I guess that at some point a recall will be announced when the fix is in. In the meantime I reached the 300 mile mark this morning and opened her up a bit 🚀. Wow.

I'm in Canada, week 31 or 32 for 50e, don't know the week cause I didn't ask, but I know it was built early August and is currently in transit. I see the STOP on the German site as well for my VIN

I have a Week 33 build. It finally arrived at the dealer Thursday and I was scheduled to pick it up today. My SA just notified me that the Knee Airbag stop sale was just expanded yesterday to include more VINs and now I can't take delivery.

I met with my SA/CA this afternoon.
- The PCD scheduled car will be shipped to local dealer. - Local dealer has to order replacement parts - Parts are coming from Germany - currently no known time frame - could be a few weeks On the other side after having two STOP sales on a car I don't have yet, I might get lucky after all. The CA had liked my configuration and ordered an exact copy of it. It came in this afternoon (production week 34 - 22nd August). Currently no STOP. The plan is to pick it up Monday afternoon. So if no other STOP is coming in over the weekend, I might be in a car on Monday. I still keep the PCD and will use the new car to drive to SC and home. That adds approx. 600 miles. |

- The dealer has to order them VIN specific - STOP sales probably first and then all others on the impacted list - My dealer expects it to be few weeks No idea if they notify you automatically or if you need to call them to make an appointment. |

As the guy who started this thread I can report an Interesting development as I put my VIN in the German vin check this morning and got the following result.
"There are no open safety-related recalls or technical improvements on this vehicle." This after a full week of "STOP024994" And happy to say that the X5 is performing perfectly. Meanwhile we are awaiting the arrival of hurricane Adalia this afternoon. Plenty of candles, batteries, SPAM, Dinty Moore Beef Stew, beer, wine and liquor on hand.
