Lease Buy Out & Final Complimentary Scheduled Maintenance

The lease on my ’21 X5 40i xDrive matures in November and I plan on buying it out from BMWFS directly (luckily in MA so I don’t need to work with a dealer). This is also the end of complimentary maintenance under the original warranty. The car will only have about 25k miles at that time, so routine oil service and anything that is included at the 36-month interval (I believe brake service). Is there anything else I should request or consider as part of this service visit beyond scheduled maintenance? Balance of 48 month warranty still applies so another year to go there.

I was in the exact same situation when I bought mine but I bought it at 27 months with 22k miles. I also bought the extra maintenance and only received wiper blades. Never again as our X5 is probably our last BMW. Don't like the direction they are going with respect to style and power train.

The maintenance will only cover what is called for in iDrive. You can request other items but they will generally be refused.

What about a brake fluid change? Isn't that supposed to be at the 3 year mark, regardless of mileage?
Just wondering since my car is coming up on its 3 year annual service.

Yes, you will get brake fluid flush. It is in iDrive.

As mentioned, it will show in iDrive when due. Unfortunately I didn't get one on mine since I hit 36k miles before the three year mark.

I only have about 10K on my X5M. I just noticed the car will also require a spark plug change along with the engine air filters. Though I wonder what connected service means? See attached.

Connected service means that it is done at the time the oil and filter change is called for and not by the approximate time period. So for example if your third oil and filter change was called for at 28 months due to the mileage then the air filter and spark plugs should also be done at that time. The brake fluid flush goes by time period.

The maintenance guide references the oil change intervals as when it should be done.

So at the 36 month service (approx.10K mileage), they should do the engine oil & filter, air filter, spark plugs and the brake fluid flush? Thanks

30K gets the 3rd oil & filter change according to BMW. Air filter at 30K is a good time to change, it is very inexpensive, 5 minutes job. If BMW doesn't do it, I would say just go it yourself too. Dirty air filter hurt MPG. But 30K spark plugs change is crazy IMO for a proper running engine. They should last way way longer than that.

Yes, that should all be covered as it is part of scheduled maintenance.

Agreed. Why fix what isn't broken.

The X5M's (S63 engine) are higher strung than the N63, so no doubt requires parts change earlier. If it wasn't necessary, BMW certainly would not be paying for the change out.

oh I didn't see it is S engine. Yes BMW will only down pay the needed maintenance within warranty period.

I have a S62, yes, it says 30K as well. M and N natural aspirated inline6 has 100K mile interval.
