I am in WA, so there is no way for me to get my custom 45e EOY. Would my dealership allow me to sign the paperwork on 12/31 while the car in transit? For example, can I sign paperwork at one dealership and pick the car in stock from another dealership? Thanks in advance.
IRS rules are around the "in-service" date for the VIN you file in your taxes.

Quote:
(IRS) Reg. Sec. 1.167(a)-(11)(e)(1), property is considered to be placed in service when it is "first placed in a condition or state of readiness and availability for a specifically assigned function."
In other words, the only way to claim the credit is if the keys are in your hands and you can actually drive the car on 12/31 for the VIN you file in your taxes (and have purchased).

No, they are not allowed to do that and even if they did you wouldn't be eligible for the credit. They trade vehicles all the time. The vehicle needs to be put into service in the year you are taking the credit for.

My week 50(originally week 49) is in production today (status 150 with VIN). Production date is Dec 15. It's very close to the end of year. Hope I can get it smoothly.

From my garage via F12 trick.

Btw, I originally can't add the production number to my garage until I have all my name/address added correctly.

Me too. We are really cutting it close here.

It looks like the plant will be closing down 12/23 for the rest of the year. As long as my car ships before that date, I should be able to take delivery by the end of the year.

What options do you have loaded?
I'm a week 48 bumped to week 50 and fully loaded on options. Curious if we see any trends on who gets through and who doesn't. I'm still 112 tonight.

Ug. Had a 50 build week, called yesterday and it's now a week 51. *sigh* There goes the tax credit for my order. Luckily my deposit was fully refundable, but now goes the mad scramble to try and find one on a lot that matches my must haves (tow hitch, DAP, executive, parking assist), no must not have (brown/green exterior), most of my wants (luxury seats, sensatec seats, cognac/coffee interior, wireless charging), and not too many of my "would prefer not to have" (M package, climate package, anthracite poplar trim, merino seats, silver/ivory interior). Compromise sucks...

If can't, then guess I'll be waiting for the FY24 or hoping that the elimination of the tax credit for many will drop demand such that better deals than MSRP can be had to offset some of the loss of the credit (ya, pipe dream probably...).

The 10/1 week 46 allocation that was stuck in 112 just went 150 build date 12/15. The dealer changed it to a minimum msrp build for the lot.

What do you mean. By minimum? No options so it would get scheduled?

I am a new entry here. I am at 112 with Week 51 schedule. The dealer is still pretty confident that we should get it before the end of the year but Genius said that I am cutting very close so can't comment. Keeping fingers crossed.. I am in PA.

I am still at 112 for week 50. Fully loaded. Genius said the plant does not close down, that it’s 365 days/year. But we all know to take Genius statements with a grain of salt.

I just called BMW Genius and was told I'm still on schedule to start production week 50, but my garage hasn't been updated with a VIN. We'll see.

So how many with wk50 have gone to status 150 so far?

I just hit 150 at noon EST so the following might also be 150
  • Flyboy2017
  • jbse39
  • loyalist32

Other ppl who have also stated wk50, but haven't moved to 150 yet:
  • billmcc
  • poloace
  • bsebesta
  • sdhotwn
  • IxnayEslaTay
  • Richzhu66

So far I've seen 13 ppl on this thread hit 150:
  • ccyyrain
  • SteakySmoke
  • lightning_mcking
  • Hiroler
  • TroubleClef
  • aMIC
  • Jlewisinsyr
  • Ncwolf
  • jm2175
  • thara01
  • mgmavant
  • ethanhgh
  • gqxxflip

13 ppl out of the 22 have scheduled for wk50 have gone to 150. I'd like to think the wk50 batch hasn't been completed yet. I'm hoping once the wk50 batch does get pushed through that we all make it through with no slips!

So what build did you have when you were stuck on 112? Changing it to bare bones moved you to 150?

I know there's at least 4 of us that are possibly on the same build track as whenever one of us gets a change we happen to all have the same change. Those other than myself are:
  • Flyboy2017
  • jbse39
  • loyalist32
All 5 of us still seem to be 112, but still on wk50 so there's hope.

Other ppl who have also stated wk50, but haven't moved to 150 yet:

  • bsebesta

So far I've only seen 3 ppl on this thread hit 150:
  • ccyyrain
  • SteakySmoke
  • lightning_mcking
  • Hiroler

Seeing that only 3 ppl out of the 15 we have scheduled for wk50 have gone to 150 I'd like to think the wk50 batch hasn't been completed yet. I'm hoping once the wk50 batch does get pushed through that we all make it through with no slips!

*Edited Hiroler due to moving to 150 (changed buildout?)
I’m also 112 with scheduled Week 50 production. Waiting and waiting
