Hi I would also like to have a read of the instructions for retrofitting ACC, I bought my car as a pre registered vehicle so was not able to pick my spec, I would have specced DAP for the ACC and other driving aids had I had the choice. Mine is UK so already have the base radar and would be happy with just the ACC part. Thanks in advance |

I was just looking at the configurator and couldn't see what gives you the ACC nor did I find it listed however the DAP seems to reference it a lot as adding to it so I presume as DAP is ordered that ACC is included

BMW Dynamic cruise control is an electronic cruise control system (hold a set speed above 20mph) and does not apply brakes to keep a preset distance between your vehicle and the cars in front. DCC also includes the Curve Speed Limiter that reduces the speed in curves for comfortable lateral acceleration. At the end of the curve the car accelerates and resumes the original speed. BMW Active Cruise Control, not to be confused with the similarly named Dynamic cruise control is optional, provides more comfortable driving experience by not only maintaining desired speed, but it also a selected following distance. A radar sensor with a range of up to 200m continually measures the distance between your vehicle and the cars in front, ACC adjusts the speed of your vehicle so that the set distance to the vehicle ahead is maintained. The set distance can be adjusted in several steps. In some markets, just ACC is an upgrade option. Otherwise ACC with Stop&Go is included in Driving Assistant Plus Package which is part of 5AU Active Driving Assistant Pro in ZDY Driving Assistant Professional, whew. Then there's the steering wheel differences with DCC and ACC.

ACC was/is an option in some markets the Adavancd Driving Assistant package(i thoifjtni saw it in Canada in 2019 for $800). It's crazy on a car of this price that it's not standard.
For those with out driving assistant pro it's a great upgrade. Makes traffic almost a non issue.

It is awesome to see that some of these very sought after options to be retrofitted. However, I am not sure how likely I would be willing instill my trust in something that comes from Malaysia that could possibly jeopardize not only the vehicle, but everyone in it. It is a very sensitive system that still has not been perfected even by BMW. I dunno guys about this...

I sure wish a dealer would install this. I'd pay them!

If I may piggy back on this thread to hopefully get an answer to a burning question:
Is it possible to "code" the BMW Active Cruise Control to reduce the selected following distance?? I find on the highway the closest following distance to be just far enough away from the car in front to allow every asshat trying to pass you to creep in front. I'm sure it is somehow calculated to be the "minimum safe following distance", but it is, I would argue, certainly more room than most leave in normal circumstances. I often refrain from use of ACC for this reason, and seems to be worse on the BMW than other cars I have driven. Thanks! |

Funny. I would like to increase the maximum distance ;-) because I hate getting my windscreen dirty and/or rocks flying into my car.
