My X5 was delivered maybe 30 minutes before I was informed of the stop sale so it hadn’t gone through pre-inspection yet. When I talked to them earlier today they informed me it was fixed but still has to be inspected, and due to the amount of other vehicles needing the same it may take a day or two. So the waiting game continues for me

Verified the fix has been applied to my 24’ X5 m60i and I’m taking delivery tomorrow. 🙌🏻🙌🏻.

My X5 is ready to rock n roll. I’ll probably pick it up Monday or Tuesday as it’s 3 hrs away and I’ll need to book a one way rental car. Will post up some pics after I get it home.

The fix is released. I closed on our X6 today for PDC delivery.

Took delivery on my 60 two weeks ago. You have to have the steering wheel in the perfect spot so the camera in the gauge area can see your face. It will let you know when it’s capeable, and you can activate that cruise mode. Works great, when you can get the camera view right. Went 150 miles no hands a few days ago!

Took delivery of my 2024 X5 M60i yesterday afternoon! Fix applied but I haven't yet road tested it.

Knowing what you’ve been through with another car company and seeing this, I’m surprise you’re not running 🏃‍♀️ after reading about this stop sale if I had a order and there was a stop stop 🛑 sale I would refuse it there would be no way I would buy a new car to send back to service to repair take parts replace. I can only imagine what the future will be like on these cars. You will never feel that it’s reliable to take on the trip. Glad I have my 2022 x5 has not been to dealer yet in 9,600 miles to date I thought about buying a 24. I’ll be waiting till 25 or 26 let the bugs get worked out.

It ended up being a software update. Wanted to grab a twin turbo V8 before they stop making them. A risk for sure but we will see how it goes.

For those who received the car after the software fix, does the German page still show STOP224988 or has been cleared?

Mine still shows the code, but I have PCD yet to come up. So I am wondering if it will clear when the fix is applied.

The fix was done to mine yesterday and I’m picking it up on Tuesday. The German page still lists it as part of the recall. I’ll ask about it and report back. When is your PCD?

My PCD is still 3 weeks out. It's a the VPC (Vehicle Processing Center) since 2 weeks and they way I understand it, will stay until 2 weeks prior PCD. I would assume this is where they will do the software update as well.

I apologize for jumping in here - my comment is unrelated to this post (I'm new and unable to see how to start new thread)....I have a 2021 BMW X5 45e - 22,000 miles on it. It currently is parked in my garage DEAD. The only reaction when I open the door is the hazard light (red triangle) blinks.

this vehicle has previously locked itself with the key in the car and also generated a myriad of apple play disconnect issues...my 2010 Avalanche with 99,000 and a blocking device to fool the truck into full time V8 is a million percent more reliable (no not ergonomically...but point A to point B - totally better than my BMW)

so any suggestions as to what is causing this? yes I'm calling the garage Monday am and getting this item hauled away.....

Does anyone know the exact nature of the "fix"? Software, firmware, hardware?

If so, how long do they need the car to implement the fix? I have the error message and the STOP code, and took delivery 48 hours before notice went out.

I expect I am at the end of the line until all pending deliveries are done.

It is software. Should take an hour or so.

I assume some vehicles already on the road prior to the stop sale being issued are effected just like the poster above. I wouldn't think it goes too far prior to it though.

Picking my X5 up tomorrow and Dealer said all is good to go! My VIN didn't show the StopSale code and Dealer said the same thing on their end, but taking today to check to insure software working.
