Even then, it would be a 7.7% discount, before the rebate. |

Hi - new member and I just read through this full thread, which is very helpful. I do have a couple questions.
1) Does anyone have a suggestion on how to receive Costco pricing sheet when I already have a SA contact? When buying another vehicle last year (at a different manufacturer) it created a lot of confusion when I was working with the internet sales team (Costco) and a regular SA. 2) On my local dealer's website, they list MSRP, a 'dealer discount' of $2,500 on X5s and then the $2,000 BMW APR discount. I assume that the 'dealer discount' would be part of the 6% targeted discount that I am looking to achieve? thanks for any assistance! |

The $2000 BMW APR discount has nothing to do with the dealer, that is from BMW Financial services for financing some of the amount. Hope that helps. |

So here's what I have managed to negotiate:
$75,050 MSRP 8% off before incentives BUT since the car is out of state I have to pay to get it here which is $800. I know the transportation of that vehicle is eating at my 8% and I am not a math guy so can someone tell me what the percentage off would be when I eat that cost? The manager tried to tell me 3% is the best he can do. I told him I am walking and they came back with this. Honestly getting cold feet though. Not sure I really want to spend this much money on a X5 40i. I want the best deal possible and I dont think this is it. |

That's still better than recommended 6% discount on the board! |

Thank you for doing the math. Here's my struggle: Someone help me with this - I paid this much, a little more, for my M4 when it first came out. I can't fathom spending this much on a non-sports car that is a regular SUV and not at the level of a Range Rover Sport or Cayenne S. Am I just thinking about this wrong? It's for my wife and not me but still.

Yeah it's pretty loaded so you're right on that. I also agree that RRS and a Cayenne S would be insanely higher in price with similar or same options.

In order to compare apples to apples when it comes to what you can negotiate off the price of a new X5 I think we need to be sure we are using the same numbers.
For example, my X5 had credits built in ($1,450 leather upholstery and $190 gesture control) to the price to which I was then able to apply my 6% off of the MSRP. I was then able to get the $3,000 credit for financing and loyalty credit and then $1,000 BMWCCA. I raise this because the same car on the dealer lot today no longer has the leather and gesture control credits. In order to get the same net price for my car I could either take 6% off the MSRP when I bought it (a little over a week ago) or today I would need almost 8% off MSRP for the same car to get the same net price. I raise this issue because some folks may get discouraged when they are only able to get 5% or 6% off the MSRP when others are getting 8% off. Is it a true comparison? Beyond the financing, BMW loyalty, etc. credits I think you need to look at your dealers credits built into the MSRP first. Just my 2 cents. Last edited by Espejo; 12-22-2018 at 06:50 AM.. |

Passed on the deal and went with a Cayenne instead. The X5 is incredible and it was a tough decision.. ended up spending 10k more so I hope it's worth it!
With that said I will always be a BMW guy. I plan on keeping my M4 forever. If anyone needs a Porsche dealer and salesman whose not pushy and can offer a great deal PM me and I'll pass along the info! |

I have some questions, using an MSRP of $100k + $995 destination: 7.5% discount off $100k = $92,500 For the RV do I calculate 59% of $100k or 59% of $100k + $995? Using the calculator from link provided, in the 'Auto Price' field do I input $92,500 or $93,495? I assume it's the latter but just want to confirm. Thanks in advance! |

Based on my Lease quote, Auto price field should be $93,495 as destination charges are also capitalized. |
