That’s cool feature. I was thinking about the exact feature when I tried reverse assistant. I drive 2023 45e. Guess it’s not an software upgrade.

I think that BMW could enable this function in suitably equipped vehicles via a S/W update, but they probably won't. It's not much of a stretch from the existing reverse assistance already in the vehicles.

I think if its technically possible they will make it a chargeable upgrade in the connected drive store - they are doing that with every other feature they can.

The motive to profit means we are finally seeing what is possible in terms of retrofit by software.
