Played with the voice control tonight, it's too clever. It can understand:

1) Open my window a fraction
2) Open my window 1/2 way
3) Open my window 3/4 way

Very impressed.

Any other interesting voice controls?

The voice recognition processing gets smarter all of the time, and only likely applied when you keep up with the OTA update routine. Some of it is, I think, cloud based, so some may vary based on whether you have a connection at the time. It understands a lot more now than it did years ago.

It works very well. I often say “Maximum Cooling” (and it turns on seat ventilation and coldest AC setting).

The original system had a very specific vernacular, but it seems as it matures, it’s able to understand more natural speech…just try it and see.

Interesting. I tried to raise the window using voice commands today and Frau BMW said no go. Maybe it's the iDrive version? I am in a pre-LCI

It’s a safety thing. You can open via voice, but not close. You don’t want someone to prank you while you’re leaning out to use an ATM or something.

Voice is great when it functions as designed but its not reliable enough. At least where I live anyway - it clearly fails to connect to the cloud on some attempts, so takes ages to process my command sometimes and is rapid at other times.

I can't deal with the inconsistency.

I can close windows by voice control (in the UK).
