New custom build, 1st BMW and new to the forum.

Seriously considered going all electric (Tesla) prior to settling on a hybrid. The improvements in battery, tech and performance for the 2024 X5 made it too tempting to pass up.

Dealer said I would have it late December (last two weeks), fingers crossed.

Debated metallic white vs black but ultimately settled on white with the M package with extended shadow line trim. Hoping I don’t regret the color choice. I tried buying one from inventory but none had the DAP which was a dealbreaker for me. Also wanted the massaging seats for those long road trips 😊

Ordered a ChargePoint Home Flex hardwire for charging. Seems like people are all over the map on how best to charge.

Welcome any pointers or tips from all. Will share some pics once rcvd. This is a purchase, is it worth buying any of the extended warranty packages?

Charge it to 100% every night, and don't overthink it.

The Silverstone Sensafin gets lots of compliments; I'm totally happy with it!

Skip the extended warranty. You can buy one anytime b4 the factory warranty expires. I chose leather over sensafin. Sit in both if you can.

I have ordered one with Silverstone Sensafin as well. I was skeptical about that color but my wife wanted something light color instead of a dark one like coffee. hope it looks great.

Thanks for the advice on the warranty. As for the leather I’m almost afraid to for fear of wanting to change.

There is no production on Week 52. The last production shift for 2023 is the night shift on Dec 22nd.

I'm a custom build in week 51. Right before week 52 so hope it gets shipped out maybe then too and doesn't just sit until after the holidays - guess will see. That, and employees will either be in a good mood or have early x-mas fever and throw things together ;-).

Dealer said my week 51 build could show up by mid-January, but I'd hope for sooner here in TX if done before 12/22.

I called Genius again tonight and they doubled down on a week 52 production week. I know that is in conflict with the posted schedule and what others have commented. Just sharing and wondering if anyone else has been told they are scheduled for week 52?

I'd say give it another 1-2 weeks, bet you pop into our week 51 somehow!

I call the BMW genius number and they know the week if you give them production number.
Key is when you get the estimated day in the F12 process from inspecting the website in Dev mode.

As mentioned, since you are in Production Begins you can use the "F12" process to get your production date.

Electrician came and installed the ChargePoint today. Ready to go. Hopefully it will be in build next week.
