What a cool idea! I didn't even think it was an option-just asked my dealer to arrange. Thank you

I was trying to do the same but they require more time (something like 20 days) from production to PCD delivery and that didnt work with me at this time. So I decided to skip it altogether and took dealer delivery

X40i (xLine)
Jet Black
Cognac Vernasca Leather
Anthracite Brown-Poplar Matte Finish Wood Trim
20" V-spoke 738 AS RFT
Driving Assistance Professional Package
Executive Package
Luxury Seating Package
Parking Assistance Package
2-axle air suspension
Space-saver spare
BMW seems to really be driving production.

Just got word that my expected production completion date was moved up to Jan 26 (11 days up from original expected production completion)

Just picked my M50i two days ago. Went to dealership last week of December, order placed by dealer 1/30, entered paint booth 1/15 (I believe the factory was shut down for the first week +/- of Jan). Holiday 1/18, entered assembly line 1/19, delivered to dealer and picked up on 1/21. Unbelievably fast!

One reason I think this went so quickly was that the dealer is supposedly the largest volume BMW dealer in our state so they had available allocations to get the order started right away. Everything after that? Just impressive tech and engineering for a manufacturing process. And being on the East Coast surely helped with the short delivery time.

We had to wait about 90 days for an Audi delivery from overseas so this was impressive.

Had some time to watch the manufacturing process on YouTube while I waited. Would highly suggest that for anyone waiting for an order.

Hope you all get yours as quickly!

Congratulations man! Glad you got your car

Any videos you'd recommend? I've seen a few of the production ones but they seem to jump all over the place/skip parts of the process. Would really like to see one end to end

None of them really did an end to end but there are a bunch of them on YouTube. I watched a few for the X6 and Spartanburg plant in general - scratched the itch!

Loving the new buggy so far - it’s worth the wait! Good luck and hope it goes fast for ya!

WOW! That is a quick production, great news. I've been stuck on Production Begins since 1/20/21 with no changes since...the last 6 days feels like it has been months as I check the status multiple times a day

I'm in the same boat. I tell myself that I'll check the status once in the morning. My resolve only lasts a couple of hours. I've been on production begins since 1/15. Does anyone know of any delays to 45e production?

From what I gather, it take approximately 15-20 days from the "production begins" phase to "exterior body assembly begins"

This time can be lengthened depending on the options of course but hopefully the wait will fly past for you!!

Have you tried calling the BMW genius line? They might be able to tell you your expected completion date.

Based on my own experience and reading other's experiences, your car should move into the next phase within the 5-10 days. It could take longer if you have individual items etc of course.

If I understand "production begins" is where they are gathering all the items needed for your build.

That is incredibly fast, good for you! I placed my order for a X5 45e on 12/28. Today I called the genius line and it looks like a 1/29 completion date.

Got my PCD date of 2/17. Car should be ready by the 4th or possibly sooner, but that was the earliest date for the PCD.

I m had the same thing yesterday as my car was supposed to finish today. But from morning to now its stuck at quality check. Does anyone know how long there's lasted at the quality check? I hope this is not going to be a long wait.

It varies. Many, most I have seen, seem to go through that stage very quickly while others may take a week or so. Mine was 3 days I think.

Just took delivery of my wife's x6 last week. It was stuck in Quality check for three days. I called my rep on the third day and said it was on a carrier heading to the dealer. BMW site is so damn slow to update.
