June production?

I submitted a build on a x40i xDrive on 2/22. Just heard from genius that I'm scheduled mid June!

Whoa-seems like I got in under the radar. My 40i order was accepted on 2/18 and is on the assembly line as I write (3/2). Should be at the dealer by this weekend or early next week. Seems also as if I am one of the last to get HK audio as part of the premium package.

Did you look for vehicles on the lot? I'm seeing 12% off MSRP pre-incentive for in stock X5 units (northeast US region). This is vs. the 10% for a custom build. You'd get the premium audio system plus an extra 2% off if you can find one in stock somewhere. Even with shipping out of region you'd come out ahead.

Gosh, that’s a long way out. Wasn’t there a “perfect build” at a competing dealer?

I ordered on 2/5 and it is scheduled for completion tomorrow, 3/3.

Congrats! Did you order Merino Leather, because 4 months seems like a long time for a 40i xdrive build.

Did you happen to ask your dealer when the allocation was for? It is unlikely it was that far out but you may be able to get an idea as to what the length of the delay is and what features/options are causing it.

I would imagine your CA would be able to get some information on that.

For comparison ... My X5 M50i order was accepted on Feb 1. Production expected to begin March 15-21 ... So 6-7 week delay before production. Allocation was immediate. Delay due to exterior color [TBM] and leather [Ivory&Blue]
I imagine an additional 2 to 3 weeks for quality, dispatch, transit and dealer processing.
10 weeks for production does seem like a long wait though. You mentioned talking with a Genius. Was that a Genius at the dealership or the 844-443-6487 phone number?

I ordered 2/11 my week of production is 14.

HK was on my build until yesterday, so was air suspension. lol

Both gone but now they added rear heated seat, which I did not ad as option. Sales rep off today so hes going to hear from me tomorrow,
