M Sport Brakes (front) Independent Cost

I know ‘what does xxxx cost’ comes up a lot on the forums to help benchmark expenditures and make repair and maintenance decisions.

Here is what I paid for new front brakes on our 2020 G05. We have the M-Sport Brembos. I always ask for them to source OEM parts, even though people complain about dust and noise. Just my preference. A a FYI, they test fluid for moisture and flush if needed. I didn’t need it. I also want to make sure they receive fair compensation, so I hope they make a few bucks on the parts as well.

Quick plug for Scott McPherson and my shop, Automobile Associates of Canton. This shop is a very high quality operation. Many of their cars and customers are ripping around Lime Rock Park and other race tracks here in New England.

Thanks! At 49k miles, had you replaced pads once already, or no? And why/what made you replace rotors as well?

I’m at 33k. Just had rear pads replaced.

Good question. Rears were done under the Ultimate Care +1 we had. Rears were new pads and rotor resurface. That worked out well.

As far as fronts were concerned. Haven’t had anything done and we are original owners. It’s my wife’s car, and she isn’t a hard driver. I was 1mm short of qualifying for new front pads under the same plan. One month after it expired I of course get the replace brake indication. Rotors were right at minimum thickness (I confirmed with a micrometer) so I had them replaced as well. Life lesson. Don’t spend the $$ on the maintenance plans as you are subject to BMW CBS. Control it yourself.
