Try MuscleTech Amino Build Next Gen or Cellucor Alpha Amino. Both worked great for me. Not expensive either, on Ebay or Amazon.
No I took it pre and post.

I take creatine, green tea extract and coffee for my pre... I just eat lots of food carb protein and fat for my recovery.

I know. But since I’m not lifting heavy. Figured it wouldn’t help or hurt so I’ll get back on after

Don't you notice the cardio effects also. Helps me resist the burn associated with cardio in legs or wherever.

The most effective way to take BCAAs is during training. That’s were it does it’s best work, supplying the body and muscles fuel and nutrients as you deplete them thus keeping your performance up!

If your depleting amino acids your negatively impacting your body in the first place! This means your training your body to look to muscle for fuel.

Leucine, iso-leucine, and valine should never be looked at as "energy" or fuel.

Understand lypolosis vs. Glycolosis and you'll see why.

The absolute best intra-workout fuel..... sugar!

Saturate the muscles with BCAAs pre, intra, and post!

They truly shine if you use for fasting as they are designed to PROTECT THE MUSCLE!

Try kre-akalyn, more effective without the negatives of strait creatine. More effective at ATP replenishment aswell.

I get all your scientific Mumbo jumbo but ultimately everyone’s body is different and even all that science doesn’t always translate to everyone.

This type of stuff is a chemistry experiment. Trial and error, you have to find the right products and combos. So the stuff works great for me. Where I live, conditions I train in, how I train, my programming etc....I do drink a little before but most during then a little bit after training.

Just my 2 cents....but I’ve been at this a long time. Including college athletics and some extra after. Up till now at 46 and still running circles around 26 yr olds.

Ok, some of it is prob genetics also...lol

Welllllll

I agree with you up to the whole chemistry experiment side of things....

Metabolism, and energy conversion pathways are 2 completely seperate animals.

Yes though, there is and never will be a 1 size fits all....

I hear ya brother. But through all my years it has definitely been a scientific experiment to find the right supplements and programming combinations which equaled the results I wanted.

The goals and supplements have changed over the years, but I have found a regimen now that works great for me and my health and fitness goals.

One size fits most....lol
