I got mine updated to .48 yesterday and just ran a test. It didn't on the presets for me either. Mine is a mix of radio and XM. I was on presets when I turned it off and when I turned it back on my arrow took me to the next SXM station numerically rather than the next one that was in my preset list.

Yes, I think 🤔, but to be clear:

- setup: at least 1 radio station and at least 1 SXM station in presets

- initial test: when in presets in Media, you can cycle through all presets, including both radio and SXM

- test setup: stop the car, get out, get it locked, drink a 🍺, get back in (but don't drive, you just had a 🍺!)

- test: car should still be in presets; without explicitly selecting presets in media, cycle through presets, does it cycle just as before or does it cycle through non-preset radio only stations or SXM only station as the case may be; if former, fixed; if later, still broken

Okay so I added my 98 KUPD station to my presets with all of my other SXM channels. Turned car off going inside to wait a few.

Turned car back on and pressed from SXM channel 021 and pressed arrow over went to 22. I pressed the media button and it showed me in SXM not my presets.

Just to confirm I did it again same results. Next step I took the FM station back out of my presets. Left the car on SXM 002 in preset. Turn off and back on pressed arrow key it went to my next which is SXM 023. Pressed media button and it stayed in my preset.

So it looks like mixing presets with SXM and FM/AM is a problem!!!! Crazy.

Yup for sure, I'm going to play around a bit more, the wife's X3 2019 works just fine no matter the stations..... Strange

So I have a crazy update; Yesterday I was messing around and adjusting settings when I decided to default and start over. Ever since I did that now it will not default to presets....... WTH welp now I'm in the same situation everyone else is in... Bummer

Curious to know if they bought it back? My X5 was just in service for 22 days while they dealt with these same radio issues everyone is mentioning here. My front passenger seat heater also stopped working. Apparently the sensor in the seat malfunctioned and is repaired now, although it hasn’t been tested yet.

When clicking from a satellite station to FM it will never go to the FM station I selected, it picks a random one instead, and then doesn’t let me change to any other FM station. My invoice from BMW service states, “system is operating as designed” next to my complaint about the radio presets. Well, must be a very poor design because it still isn’t working like a logical human would think it should work.

It sounds like you are having more issues than the presets. The preset issue regarding not staying on preset was fixed in an update last summer (I think is was an 07/2019.xx update). I have a mix of satellite and FM and it works just fine. When I come back into the X5 it stays on Presets rather than defaulting back to either Satellite or FM.
