Any deal that includes a trade is not an accurate deal for comp purposes.

Frankly, I'm not sure why anyone would trade in a car to a BMW dealer. You're getting low balled. And if you're not, it means they could have just done that much better on discount from the car your're buying. Even Carmax will give more than a BMW dealer.

Leases can skew discount comps as well.

The only way to truly compare discounts is for finance and cash purchases with no trade.

There are very few 50i's in the market. In Houston, I counted less than 10 total last month and that was across 7 dealers.

Given the scarcity of 50i's, you would think the discount would be less. However, many people order the cars. I bet almost any dealer is willing to give the same % discount on a new order regardless of engine size.

Huh? It doesn't change any of the numbers that count - Net Sales Price after dealer's discount versus MSRP, only the bottom line regarding having to pay less sales tax which for Texas is 6.25%. I got top dollar on my trade and I checked every source from the Kelly Blue Book Guide to Carvana and more. Dealer started at $16,000 and came up to $19,000. Not bad for a 2013.

I got 7% off MSRP or $4,577 on a $67,635 car and ordered what WE want. Damn happy with that. BMW and USAA rebates of 2,500 on top of that. Then there is the net $866 BMW CCA rebate.

On the road before the BMW CCA rebate - $44,536.

Wrong. Their email offer is below, AND I wouldn't have gotten the $1,187.50 savings in state sales tax if I had applied it as cash versus a trade. I can continue to drive my Lexus until the X5 is built. Dealer just asked that I don't put thousands of miles on it.

I ordered my 50i and got the same discount if not better than many 40i buyers both off the lot and custom ordered. It really depends on how you negotiate. The markup percentages are nearly the same over invoice for the models I've seen so dealers generally don't go below invoice because then it cuts into their AVP

You did get a nice deal, congrats. But I disagree on the point and you did likely leave money on the table by combining everything into one deal.

I got 8% off MSRP in California bay area on 12-21-2018. Custom order. Cash deal. No trade-in. I had numerous other offers between 7% and 8% off. I did most of my negotiating over email with the Internet Sales Managers from the dealerships and made sure to mention I have been following the quotes people were getting through online BMW forums.

Good deal on the MSRP part. Did you get any BMW credits? $2000 for getting a BMW Loan or $1,000 loyalty?

Are those % rates for retail financing just for your market?

Do you if the cash credit is just for a cash sale or can they add it to the APR credit?

Thanks for the January info. It's frustrating that my dealer is only doing $4250 on the '18 40e and $1k loyalty. They have several in stock but not as malleable on price as I think they should be at this point.

Looking like I'll be waiting for the 45e...

I'm not financing so the only other credit I will get is the $1000 check for joining BMWCCA

What's the difference between the BMW FS APR Credit $2k and the BMW NA $2k?

Is the BMW NA $2k cash new and combine-able with the FS APR Credit?

I can pay cash too. Chose to finance the minimum amount which is only $7,500 that can be paid off after the 3rd installment. It's a no brainer - $2,000 rebate.

Not sure but I think the NA credit is if you're paying cash or using alternate financing instead of BMW FS.
