Matters to me b/c I'm being quoted a $799 fee and I wanted to get a feel for how much they're potentially making.

I'm being quoted 10% off plus finance incentive and loyalty rebate. But with a $799 fee and a slight markup on the interest rate to 3.49%.
Documentations/processing fee covers real costs that a dealership incurs to process a vehicle purchase. In other words, dealers pay for all the paperwork, such as registration, (and personnel) involved with selling you that shiny new ride. The fees originated when dealerships separated their various departments.

It's up to you to negotiate with the dealer. If they're adamant in charging you $799 doc fees, counter by having them reduce the selling price of the vehicle by that amount. I've done that in the past, if they want your business they'll do it.

Giving discount on one hand and stealing it back from another?
$799 doc fee is atrocious! Didn't you ask what kind of work and how many man hours are needed to do the doc fee. $999 destination fee, gets your car from factory floor, loaded to truck and then to maybe train and then to another truck and to the dealer lot... that's real manpower/equipment multiplied by 3 or 4 times. Ask your dealer to make it reasonable or take your business somewhere else.

Is it SouthShore in MA? They were only quoting me 5% off MSRP (before incentives)

You're getting 9.1% off MSRP - you could push for 10% or another $808 before incentive.

The residual value for your lease is 55% for 36mo/15K

Base MF rate is excellent

Is the $750 lease or conquest incentive? There's a $1000 lease credit that's available for 50i/M50i but could be less based on your region.

You can plug numbers at Leasehackr calc to get an estimate monthly payment:
https://leasehackr.com/calculator

If you're a member with USAA or PenFed, you can get an extra $500 off even if you lease/finance with BMWFS. Login to PenFed or USAA "Car Buying Service" and they will email you a Customer ID and Offer Code. Bring the info to the dealer when signing the paperwork.

Make sure to join BMWCCA, sign up for 3 years ($134) and become immediately eligible to apply for a $1K vehicle rebate on X5.

Following up on my deal I described above, my dealer also said that the system wouldn't allow them to stack the test drive incentive (bmw contribution of $500) on top of the apr and loyalty incentive. Claims that they would do it if they could b/c it's bmw money and not dealer contribution but system won't let them. So basically I'm getting $3,250 instead of $3,750.

Does anyone know if this is true?

Fake news. Probably the best way to summarize what is going on.

Tell them their finance manager has to call this in if they can't figure out how to do it themselves.

That is the entire point of the finance manager

I started another thread to ask about test drive incentive and was also told be other forum members they saw some fine print before where it does mention it is 50/50 between BMW and dealer. So the $500 actually sounds correct.

However, I'm also positive that it stacks with loyalty and APR incentives. In fact, my local dealer tried to push me to buy their inventory and gave me a written quote that shows $4250 incentives total ($1200+$2000+$1000). I want a custom build so I rejected it and they wouldn't allow that $1000 to be spent on a custom order.

Yes you are correct.

I am not questioning that it is only 500 from bmw. In fact I have tried to tell people several times that it is only 500 if they already negotiated a very strong discount.

You walk in and get 2-3 percent discount, sure the dealer is going to stack on the $1000.

You negotiate 10 percent off, the dealer may be unmotivated to submit the OL code to BMW for reimbursement.

I have stacked apr, loyalty, and these driving event 500 coupons before.

Just to confirm, you weren't doing the drive event coupon for custom build either right? I'm being told only in-stock vehicle.

So the only vehicles that would realistically land on a new order would be X series. This was the case back around November 12th and even more so today.

Dealer would have to snatch something in the pipeline .

Not applicable in previously ordered cars.

This is was all just via text with a sales manager. I never actually went into a dealer. It's on the to do list .

What car are you specifically trying to get that the dealer is giving you a hard time.

An X5. They won't do it for non-inventory cars and only giving me 7.2% off MSRP so far so a deal is not happening here (local dealer)

Ok, so I'm at a stalmate with my dealer. They've offered me the following deal on a custom order X5 xdrive 40i on Atlanta for a PCD. They even told me to shop around to see if I could find something better and said they could match the deal....

10% off before incentives/rebates
$2,000 finance incentive
$1,250 loyalty
Will not apply test drive $1000 voucher (not even $500)
3.49% finance rate (compared to base rate of 2.99%)
$799 doc fee

Any dealer reps in here or does anyone know of someone who wants to earn a sale? Would like to do 10% plus all incentives including test drive with no markup on finance rate or doc fee.

Would like to make by tomorrow if possible before Nov month end and am open to anyone nationwide since I'm doing PCD. Thanks!

I'm in same boat as you, but am getting 2.99%. Other than that your deal is mostly solid. You can push for 10.5% given the $800 doc fee (but you can't adjust the doc fee, you just need to build that into your discount).

The $1000 test drive does specifically state only valid for in-stock. My local dealer whom I did the test drive with also verified that. They were willing to give me $4250 incentives for their in-stock vehicle only, not for custom order. So they are not doing anything wrong in this case...

Bottom line my advise (take it with a grain of salt) is push for 10.5% discount and 2.99% rate and seal the deal.

I was just reading the lease offers before responding back to one of the dealers we are working with and saw this.
$1,000 Lease Credit, $750 Loyalty/ Conquest Certificate). Actual MSRP may vary.

My question is for the $1k lease credit, that is a straight offer from BMW & there is nothing you have to do to qualify. The dealer did not offer this and I want to point it out in the e-mail. He only offered the $750 because I asked for it.

That is correct, it comes from BMW finance and if you qualify for a lease you should qualify for the lease cash.

I can't wait to see them. Hopefully BMW wants to boost their sales and we'll give some better incentives for December, fingers crossed.
