M50i badge color?

I ordered my M50i with the shadowline package..... hut even still, the badges are still silver.

I would like to install the factory "M" badges on the fenders like they do here in Europe..... but I want them to match the ones on the trunk.

With the shadowline package.... are the trunk emblems "chrome"..... or are they that "grey" color? I can't tell based upon the builder o the BMW website.

You'll need this part and it's in Cerium grey: 51148094237

I have yet to see a knockoff of the G05/G07 badges. Only ones I’ve seen are of a different font used on previous gens.

I got my black badging from IND. Badging has been on for 5 months and couldn't be happier with the finish.

I’ve seen those but they’re more than I want to spend on badges. I’ll wait for the knock offs.

Or DIY. it's fairly easy and inexpensive to do. if your going to purchase to remove and replacing the existing, the only extra step is painting them. It took me about an hr to do with multiple layer and top coat, about $15.

i did purchased an extra set, from someone who badgered, if i ever want to go back chrome.

I'm in a similar situation, just ordered an all blacked out X6 M50d and would like to keep the badges (currently ordered de-badged, but can still change), but have them in black (apart from the tri-color part of the M logo). I'm talking about all the badges, rear and fenders.

As the OEM black ones don't exist it seems, I can either paint/plastidip the cerium gray ones that come on the car, or replace them with aftermarket/chinese black ones.

Anyone out there who found a good knock-off (not preferred, but hey...) or a good way to plastidip the existing cerium grey ones (keeping the tri-fold M flags in color)?

I have been looking myself - I was able to find an OEM black emblem for my 340i...... but for the X5 M50i, no such black emblem exists yet.

I'm VERY hesitant of buying Chinese knockoff badges. Often they don't look "quite" right, or they are slightly off in size, etc.

With so many "fake" M badges here in Europe, I don't want to even risk the possibility that it may appear fake. I'm sticking with the cerium grey

I bought my black badging from IND. I couldn't be happier with the finish. I think there are two options, Gloss Black and Matte Black.

I just came across a video where the guy shows black badges on the new X6 as part of the M performance parts options. Is it possible that BMW finally made them available in black??

Here's the clip:

Before I start plastidipping or buying badges online, can anyone confirm there are no OEM black badges available from BMW?

I'd need X6 M50d for the back and two smaller M badges for the front fenders.

There are black badges available from iND.

https://ind-distribution.com

While not "OEM" , they do take the OEM base badges, then paint and clear coat them. I've ordered several from them over the years and they have turned out great. I don't think the X5/6 M50i versions are on the website yet, but you can email them for pricing and availability. I'm sure you could convince them to do an M50d version with the fender badges

Not to say that there won't be in the future..... but as of this moment, no, there are no black badges from BMW.

Someone else posted an aftermarket set they got from China or something.... and they were clearly "off".

So... wait for them, deal with the original ones, or refinish.

Thanks! I initially ordered the car debadged, thinking I'll buy the black emblems and put them on. Then I realized that Ebay ones are not quite right and decided to change the order and add the original cerium grey badges anyway.

If plastidip doesn't look ok I'll have to take them off, have them professionally painted and put them back on.

It really sucks that BMW holds them back, even when we add the blackened extended shadow option

I found badges in grey anthracite finish on Ebay.de, it says original BMW...Anyone knows if this is a darker color that would go well with an all black look or a more shiny chrome looking one? Also, any thoughts on the "original" claim made by the seller?

+1 for IND - they didn't have the M50i black badges on their site, but Ryan was super helpful via e-mail. Got the emblems quickly, they look great, and although they are still fairly new, the emblems seem like they will hold up just fine.

I have ones for sale that I bought off eBay US and they’re slightly smaller. They came just like the ones you pictured.

How's the color, closer to black or closer to chrome? Hard to tell from the photos. Would they go nicely with the all black trim?
