Mine has worked 6/6 times so far, although I haven't tested yet one specific scenario which generally caused it to fail:

Use iDrive nav for a journey and then switch to Waze - that would generally get me the blank screen. Will try this tomorrow and advise.

Mine looks like it's working again (post most recent Waze update I installed yesterday)
