Hi Guys,

Just got my 45e delivered. One of the first "basic line" models to be posted here I think as some countries don't even provide that option.

Sophisto grau and the 20 accessories wheels on coffee with piano black trim

Congrats! We don't have basic line (or no line?) here. Was the black window surround and roof rails, etc an option, or that's how they come? Looks great with the wheels.

I vote yes on the black grille to complete that look.

Ja, standard line trim for international markets come standard with matte black roof rails, window surrounds, rear bumper apron, simpler front bumper blades.

I like that a lot more than the silver plastic trim that adorns the US x-lines. Looks especially nice with the shadowline trim on the windows and roof rails.

That was exactly the reason I chose not to have the X line. And the M-pack looks better ons saloons and stations in my opinion, it takes some of the SUV'ness away so I went for the basic line.

Only the term basic feels a bit wrong, especially since it has allmost every box checked in the interior, IAS, electrical tow bar (which is compatible with Kick to open in europe, thank god), ...

The shadowline trim was extra, roof rails as well. Financially it is not a better deal than X-line trim if equipped like this, i just didnt like the other 2 options. Only extended shadowline is not possible on non M cars so that is why i am now considering a black kidney grille.

In any case, very happy with the end result.

Congrats with your car. Sophisto Grau looks good with the plastic wheel arches and bumper. With x line or basic line I would probably also haven chosen this color. If you have a black grill you probably also want to do the two chrome lines in the bumper.

Thanks!

I think the 2 chrome lines are subtle enough to be left in place. just as the silver exhaust surrounds don't bother me. But the huge shiny grille sometimes does.
(also getting the chrome lines done requires a substantial bigger effort compared to the grille that can be done in 5 min and since i am rather lazy... )

Finally pulled the trigger on the grill replacement so here is my before and after for today. Love the look and now want to remove all chrome from the rear.

About to pick up the exact same rig and think the grill makes a huge difference. Big fan of the center trim painted. Actually was contemplating painting the outer border too. IND did this for me on my current space gray X5 and I liked it. It could minimize the visual impact of the G05 bigger grill.

Random shot of the day of my X5 45e Artic Gray M pack with exterior line aluminium satinated. Black Merino interior and fineline stripe high gloss.
On 19 inch winter wheels. 20 inch M740 for the summer. Driving it for 4 weeks and very happy with it.

The white on black looks so good! Haven't ever had a white car, almost went with that too.
