Mine updated in Wisconsin yesterday. Took 20min to do. After update had error message for exterior lighting and driver assistance. Once I drove vehicle parked and locked it second drive all was OK. Simply had to push auto button for headlights to solve lighting error and drive vehicle for driver assistance to run a self check. 2020X5.

Has anyone had issues with the new 11/2019.70 remote update? Mine just popped yesterday and I'm a bit reticent in doing it. I'm on 11/2019.41 right now. I read the story about another owner who bricked his car. I know some have recommended waiting to have the dealer do it when it's in the shop for service next time. But then, that defeats the purpose of having a remote update to begin with, doesn't it? I'm not interested in losing/impairing any functionality I currently have. Apologies if somebody has already answered this in another thread and I've missed it. Thanks.

There was one X7 and one X5 that have been posted but the X5 seems to be caused by a bad TCU not the upgrade itself. As you said, not a big deal and no technical reason for not upgrading. Of course the upgrade may not contain any new options depending on what version a person is currently on.

11\2019.70
About an hour ago while out shopping I told the X5 to search for OTA software updates, and it found 11\2019.70. When we got home, I allowed the car to update. It made me use the Parking brake -- I never use the Parking brake ;-)
It took about a half-hour, and I sat in the car the whole time. No problems. I have not yet taken it out for a spin. We live in Connecticut, USA, and the vehicle was built in January 2020. I'm trying to remember what the software version was previously, but I cannot remember with certainty. I think 11\2019.50. |

I just did the remote fw update on my 2020 X6 M50 yesterday. I did go to the dealer to do it, but did the upgrade in the parking lot. The car had already downloaded it so it just had to run the install. I had to start then stop the car to get it to ask to do the upgrade. Took maybe 20 minutes and the Connected App sent me a notification when it was done. I checked the app during the upgrade and it flagged two failures, which cleared once the update completed.
I guess I need not have worried, but the guys in the service department were definitely sympathetic and happy to help/let me do the upgrade there. They're more than aware that it can go badly depending on the degree of update. |

G06 x40i in NYC. I received an OTA update of 11/2019 .70. Took 20 mins. It was my first time activating the park brake. While waiting for the update to complete, connectedapp showed an error on the park brake and asked me to schedule a service. Like what other had said, I also received an error about exterior lighting afterward. Pressed the auto lighting button. I turned the car on and off like 2 times, all errors went away.
Some settings got reset like the steering vibration and drive recorder. After this update, the car behaves a little different and I just can't figure out what it is. The acceleration of the first few gears is subtly different. Feel like there is added vibration. 560 miles now, still breaking in, only tried sport mode once. |

sorry if already asked. Have had the message on the idrive that an update is available. Will doing this undo the few things that i've coded? specifically, the auto start/stop function and default to adaptive suspension?
