G05 M Sport + 30d U.K. newb
Hi All,
Picked up my Sapphire Black G05 on Saturday, got an amazing deal and the upgrade in seating position from a 4 series is breathtaking. I'm loving all the tech, favourite feature has to be the head up display, can't get enough of it

Interesting, do you have matrix headlight/laser? If you don't it's possibly a car we had a look at and didn't take in the end (I want adaptive headlight, I do a lot of night driving). Specs were awesome BUT it was missing the headlight! Caught that at the LAST minute too!
My own car was supposed to arrive today but it's not happening, so they are going to lend me a 840d for a couple days ;-)

That is a fantastic deal, especially from Sytner. They must of been desperate to make their numbers. I tried Sytner High Wycombe and Oldbury when I bought mine both failed to match Coopers back in February. They went up to head office with my deal and both turned me down. I got 14.8% plus a few goodies back in February for a 4th April delivery. Just shows what a tough time they are having in the U.K.

Ah it means it's very likely /exactly/ the car I looked at that was in stock. Small world! It's a bloody cool car, well done!

Loaner. It's quick -- has FANTASTIC brakes, but it has less goodies than my X5-to-be.... lots of options, but no surround cameras, cooled cupholders etc etc. All these little things... :-)
I terrorised my wife a bit with the acceleration, but she likes it ;-)

70k list price I got them down to 59k on the 2.9% deal. 69 plate but they registered on my private number anyways. Not sure how much value difference from a 19 plate on there. Last edited by chipofry; 09-05-2019 at 06:28 AM.. |

So car is mine on monday. Whoohoo. A bit late, but I'm not complaining as I've got a 840d coupé to play with :-) :-) -- did a few solo drives (My wife tends to start making funny noises which seems proportional to the G's the car is taking) and it's a good car, but that particular model is short of options, almost none of the "tech" bits are on. Nice engine, AWESOME brakes, and there's one option I might actually miss on my own X5 -- the rear directional wheels are SPOOKY and awesome, you can turn this /boat/ in nothing at all!
Anyway, just a few days to wait...

Another cracking deal... mine is similar Artic Grey, 22" 742 rims, Pano roof, MSport plus and Tech Pack was £58k back in Feb and paid cash as the finance deals back in Feb were at 4.9%

Yours sound an awesome spec! Love the look of the artic grey, my last 3 cars have been grey and I was determined to either go blue or black. Pan roof must lighten the interior up significantly. Let's see some pics

My Artic Grey is delivered to me Wed 3pm. Its at the dealership, but I added 2 dashcams which add a bit of setup, but given my only accident in 20+ years was this year when I was f*cking stationary and the other guy never fessed up, it raises up my premium by a lot more than the price of the dashcams, so now I'll have as many as it takes!
I didn't mind letting the 8 series loaner go. It's a great car, but I think my X5 is WAY better equipped, and is no slouch in corners either, even if it doesn't reach the <=5s to 60mph. I think I will miss the X3 a bit tho, nearly 100k miles on it, been brilliant, drove fantastic -- I do a lot of small welsh country road and on many trips I lost the 'straight line divas' from my tailgate in the bends. More importantly, I'll miss the manual gearbox, downshifting, rev-matching and (with the right shoes) toe-heeling it on braking, it was a really nice 'driver's' SUV. I hope the X5 ends up as good.

About £3k more over 30k miles, if you trust the fuel economy figures. Also, the diesel has more torque, and videos online shows it's actually about as quick to 60 than the 40i.
I like torque :-)
