I'm so jealous of all the updates in here. I placed my 45e order on 1/26, Scheduled for production on 2/5... still waiting for that little blue dot to move along on the tracker! Dealer originally quoted me a completion date of 3/10, but was hoping it might move earlier like others have seen.

I had an order place on 1/23 - made a separate post. Vehicle arrived at dealer this past Saturday 2/13. So once the dots change it moved VERY fast.

I am in North Carolina so very close to the actual factory so transit time was like 1-2 days.

Mine was dispatched from the factory on 2/1 and is still in transit. I'm following it Via NS phone number and it sat for three days in the snow storm in Wellington Kansas. Awesome. It's now moving again, but I don't think it'll make it's expected arrival date in Sacramento of the 19th.

Yeah, I've been following your post since I'm in NC as well. I purchased mine from BMW Southpoint - I know a lot depends on how many spots your dealer has for their allotment, so hoping for some traction here in the next few days.

I've totally turned into that guy who refreshes the tracker at multiple points during the day...

If you have a production number, then you have an allotment spot. The only time you have to worry about allotment is if the dealer doesn't give you that production number. Some dealers will give you a date but no allotment cause they're hoping to trade a spot with another dealer and get your vehicle in under the wire. If it gets delayed they can just blame BMW for a slow production rate. This is basically a sales retaining tactic.

It usually takes 10-15 days (depending on the options on your vehicle) to move from "scheduled for production" to "exterior assembly begins". This is the phase in which all the various parts and pieces for your build are brought together/assembled for install. If you have individual options, it could take longer.

From "exterior assembly begins" to "awaiting carrier assignment" is usually 1-2 days (with 2 days being the outlier).

Hope this brings some clarity and helps with the wait!

I am going to get mine tomorrow at the Performance Center in Greenville. My car has been sitting there since the 6th, so a little frustrating, but hopefully worth the wait.

So, my X5 was completed yesterday and I am also taking delivery at the Performance Center. The car will sit until March 4th (my delivery date). From what I have been told, they are severely limited on the number of people that can go thru factory delivery on a daily basis, thus, the +/-2 week wait.

Can't wait!

My X6 40i originally had a completion date of 2/19. That was bumped up to today (2/16). It sat at production begins since the 2/4 and went ballistic today all the way to QC. So it should be done today barring no issues at QC.

Order Received: 1/23/2021
Scheduled for production: 2/1/2021
Productions begins: 2/4/2021
Quality Control: 2/16/2021

Hope you get bumped up as well!

This! I didn’t realize how lucky I was to end up with a high volume dealer for my order. They had allocations available and I had my car in under a month (including delay in ordering and factory closure due to holidays).

It sounds like a lot of dealers don’t have the ‘juice’ to get more allocations so something I will definitely check out next time I order a Beamer in the future.

Under appreciated value of a dealer right here!

Price is not everything if you need a quicker order timeframe.

Just something to ponder . . .

I ordered my X5 on 2/11. I was told production would be 4/5. Does that sound right? Seems everyone else is 4-5 weeks. Should I be almost 8 weeks?

It is not the production length that determines when a vehicle is built but rather when the dealer's allocation is. They likely didn't have an earlier allocation.

Not at this point for that allocation. In theory they could try and trade allocations with another dealer and put your order in again but highly unlikely they would do that.

Is there a way to verify when my vehicle will be produced by production number?

Give Genius a call and they should be able to give you the production week (ISO week date) and as you get closer the actual date. Stay on the line until you get a live person rather than using the automated system.

excited for you!

my daily commute is 20 miles round trip, so i can drive all electric for the work week. I still have 80% fuel in the tank since last fill-up 2 months ago.

using the included level 1 charger on US 110V outlet @ 10A took about half a day to charge, so having a fully charged battery in the morning depended heavily on what time I got home from work the previous day. now with the level 2 charger on 240V @ 16A, it'll take about 6 hours from empty.

Electric mileage range varies on terrain, errands, temperature, and I average the advertised 31 miles on a full charge (shortest was 29 miles; longest was 39 miles). i haven't seen the impact on my electrical bill yet.

looking forward to when you get yours!

That's great, that you can do so much of your driving on just electric power. Ours should be arriving next week, and we are are super excited about it. It's our second BMW, the first being a used 2010 328 that we sold four years ago, and our first hybrid. I am a technology geek and can't wait to play around with the system.

So I spoke to dealer and was told I am 11th week (Mid March) for production. They resubmitted my build and gave me a new production number. When I track it, it already moved up from start to scheduled for production.

Dealer said about 2 weeks from when production starts, it should be shipped the them, So I assume last week of March / first week of April to take receipt. I hope...
