PCD Delivery question

I am sure I can probably guess but does anyone know if they fill up the gas tank? I logged into MyBMW app and it shows fuel level at 2%, 11 miles. I hope a gas station is nearby. We pick it up next Tuesday.

Never fear... Picking mine up Monday. This morning they filled the tank, and are topping off the charge. They're evidently looking the car over... windows are down, tailgate open, hood open...

Its quite a revelation what the BMW app gives you insight to. Current range as shown on the app, 555 mi.

Good luck, and enjoy!

555 mi, wow!. We weren't really planning on getting a new car so I didn't really deep dive into the 45e. Kind of wish I had. Didn't want to buy right now but the rebate would have been nice. Plus, I don't know anything about battery life, total life, and how much replacing them costs.

They didn't do the state inspection on ours. As soon as we got back from our trip picking it up, we had to stop by the dealership for them to do the Texas state inspection.

I'm assuming you were picking up the car out of state.

Yes and no. Live in Texas, ordered from a dealer in Texas, and did PCD. Still had to have the state inspection done when we got back.

When do you have to decide by to do PCD? Do they offer Friday or Saturday pickups?

You need to decide before your vehicle hits 150 status, and yes, they do Friday pick ups, but not weekend.

You get submit dates you'd like to pick up, but because of the high demand you most likely won't get the date you want, and it's a take it or leave it situation.

This for sure. That's why we are on a Tuesday.

Ours was on a Tuesday as well, and it worked out better for us, as we were able to take our time driving back to Texas.

Spent 2 days in Nashville and 2 days NOLA, got home Saturday evening, and spent all day Sunday relaxing before work on Monday.

They will do a complete Detail and Top-Off (Gas & Electric) before you pick it up.

I asked for Friday (3 weeks in a row) and got accepted as Friday

So you definitely can get a Friday but is farther out

Because of your post I checked the app and sure enough this morning I watched them fill it up. When I first opened the app it was 51% and left door open and I refreshed it and it went to 100%, 605 miles and then door closed and locked. Super cool. I have the same sort of app for my LR Discovery but it doesn't work as smoothly as myBMW seems to.

It's not exactly flexible, but not quite take it or leave it. I gave "unavailable dates" to my CA. PCD gave me a date that met the criteria, along with the warning that the date provided might be the only one. But the date still didn't fit for other reasons.

I had a very reasonable excuse, and made sure to be polite. Talked to PCD directly, and they were willing to work with me within their constraints. It was explained they could not hold a car longer than 6 wks from production date. After that it goes on a truck to the dealer, with an extra charge.

I could have had any open date within that timeframe. It turns out I actually moved it up a day, and that met my needs.
