Investment / Money Sub-forum?

Hey Admins

Any thoughts on putting together a sub-forum relating to investment, money talk, etc?

I'm no admin, but from what I've seen so far on this forum regarding money issues and solutions, I would think that sub-forum would have too much misinformation in it to be useful. But, then again, maybe if there was a separate sub-forum for it, people who don't belong there would be less likely to interject....

Might not be a bad idea if it draws enough interest.

Just thinking as it seems their is an increase in money related posts these days it may be a good idea to give folks a place to talk about it.

Yeah it is a good idea. However, there's really no way to regulate who is full of hot air and who is actually worth listening to. It would be nice to have a forum to go to if you do have real financial questions and want a straight answer from a professional or seasoned vet in the marketplace, but it's difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Give some of us a little credit From what I've seen, there are actually quite a few professionals (at least from Chicago) here in the forums. I'd be interested in an economics and finance sub-forum.

Too many people who think they know what they are talking about for one to work.

I agree that there would be too many people that one would have to comb through to get to the few that actually know what they're talking about. However, it should be good to have a place where everyone can pitch it and let the readers decide for themselves what is good and what isn't. Hopefully they take everything with a grain of salt because it is the internet after all.

Just like any information provided on any form including dedicated investment forums you have to do you own due diligence and take any opinions with a grain of salt.

Their are posts dealing with finances in the general section now and no-one is raising any red flags. The idea would be to segregate these into their own sub-forum.

No. I think booze and hoes are worthy investments. This isn't going to work out well.

No one said you had to take their word on anything. Its a discussion forum.

If you are that easily led, I have some products you would be interested in.

Well I think that's why it would be better to have a separate subforum. The threads specifically dealing with that topic would be isolated from the normal OT lurkers who love to interject about anything, even if they know nothing.

The only question I'd really have about its implementation would be: Is there enough forum-wide interest for it to be worthwhile?
