2024 BMW X5 xDrive40i leaking greenish fluid

Hi there,

I just got a new BMW X5 two weeks ago. Today, I noticed that there is a light greenish fluid leaking under the car closer to the driver's side. The fluid leaks after I park or when I start my car. But it doesn't leak after the vehicle is parked for a few minutes. I've attached a picture for reference.

Does anyone know if this is the coolant or something else?

Thanks.

Likely it is coolant.

Thanks. This is my first BMW. Is this common in new BMW cars?

No, it is not common. Take it to the dealer so they can take care of it. Could just be a loose clamp or something.

Pop the hood and check the coolant expansion tank's level. If it gets too low, you could have other problems, but the sensor should warn you if it's low. If nothing else, it will give you a reference point about how fast it's leaking and how quickly you must get things resolved.
