Front Lower Control Arm Replacement
(2019 X5 40i) While getting an oil change at the BMW dealership I was shown a leaking bushing on the front lower control arm. I ordered both control arms but have not replaced yet and I haven’t found much info on replacing on this model (more on prev. model). Trying to figure out how you are supposed to press out the ball joints (scissor press?). Does the ball joint sleeve on the new control arm stay or should it be removed (circled in red 2nd pic)? If removed, do you press off or is more required to remove? Guess I can’t see how the old one would come out with the sleeve still attached w/ any sort of press. First BMW so little unfamiliar and starting to think I bit off a little too much. Thanks!

did you ever do this diy? I'm attempting it but I couldn't really find anything. Did you have to take apart the whole from assembly to get the control arm out or were you able to get it out with everything in place?

Got quoted for $1100 for parts and labor. BMW was going to charge me $2300 or something that made it seem worse but went to a shop to get it checked first. Haven't done it yet though.
