DIY Maintenance - xDrive45e
My new X5 xDrive45e comes with 3 years / 36,000 miles maintenance like all new buyers. I also purchased every warranty under the sun. I did not purchase the extended maintenance plans.
I have a friend who has a mechanic shop. He can source all OEM BMW parts. After the initial 3 years / 36,000 miles maintenance window is up, I'd like to take the xDrive45e to him. From what I understand, all of the maintenance that needs doing is to the ICE parts of the car. Has anyone had any experience doing this, and getting the maintenance schedule/details from Alldata? If I keep accurate, honest records, this shouldn't impact any future warranty claims, could it? |

Warranty is 4yr/50k miles. You are are 3yr/36k. There are really not much needed between them. Maybe an oil change?
BMW oem maintanence parts are not expansive in general. Definitely go with oem or oe parts unless you are looking for certain specific changes. |

I'm just setting my expectations when the 3 year / 36,000 mile free BMW maintenance period expires, that I can start performing the maintenance at my friend's shop without voiding any BMW extended warranties.

Does your friend have access to the BMW's service database so he can register all oil changes etc. there? At least in Europe, BMW's no longer come with a paper version of the maintenance log book.
