Yeah I had the same issue, the instrument cluster and HUD won’t display anything other than speed. Parked the car at work and everything was working as normal on the way back home.

The first drive after an OTA update can sometimes be wonky. If it's still messed up on the next, then you might have a problem. It seems that after an OTA update and first startup, the numerous modules need to run their software and figure out what's really in the system before they'll work properly.

Looking at a pre-owned X5 and it has all of my boxes ticked and want be sure it has iDrive 8.5. Can anyone confirm this X5 has the 8.5 update?

Also it was a fleet car for 7mo, can I use that to help negotiate the price down a bit more?

That is the iDrive 8.5 screen. Check to see what version it has.
