Anybody install a Fumoto valve for oil changes?
A search over the entire Bimmerpost forum turned up zero results.
Hard to believe someone hasn't put one in and posted about it. Maybe I did something wrong? I am trying to determine which, if any, might be the most appropriate and whether an adapter is needed. https://www.fumotousa.com/cars-picku...022-x5-3-0l-l6 |

Just Google "BMW Fumoto" and you'll find other threads. My biggest concern would be ground clearance. If that sticks below the skid plate at all, even 1/2", I'd worry about it getting caught on something ... road debris or whatever. You'd be in a world of hurt when it rips a chunk out of the bottom of the oil pan. There's no completely mess free way to change oil. You still have to deal with the filter and that's where most of the mess comes from.

While having a fumoto is making the oil change easy, BMW is being paid to do scheduled maintenance at the moment, so I don't need to make their job easier. |
