Hi.

I picked up my 2021 X5 M50i and I've tried everything to get remote start to work.

I've logged into my connected drive account in my car and everything is linked.

I even checked under the climate control menu and couldn't find the remote start option.

All permissions and privacy settings are accepted and I even checked the online store to see if I can purchase it and its not available.

I called BMW and they just adivised me that its not available on my vehicle.

Does anyone know how I can get remote start to work on my X5 M50i.

Check your FA and make sure your car has 1CR optioned. You can use an online VIN decoder.

Yeah I also thought that it was standard Accross all G05’s

If it’s available it’s in your climate control settings. Mine is not here at the moment but I can give you the menu steps later today.
It’s under preconditioning if that helps. Will need to toggle the dial to the right for the submenu iirc

When it was first introduced, only Canada and USA cars had this feature. It’s 2024 now, I believe other countries have been added to the list, but I don’t know which ones.

OP, it says your location is South Africa? This may be one of the excluded countries. Use a VIN decoder to find out if your car has the option.

Excellent website where I just found that I have: SOFT DOOR CLOSING!!!! Yup, since this is a new to me vehicle I thought I did a good job understanding all its features...until now. This decoder came in handy...
