Updated BMW USA Build Site
Anyone else notice the updated BMW USA build website? Got a little bored so decided to see if the 2020 models were up yet, and boom, I noticed a revamped build site.
We now have actual 360 degree exterior/interior views, and something a bid odd, it even tells you which trims are "Trending" or "Regional." There's also way more information about the individual packages and options. It reminds me a bit of how Volvo has their build site set up. Glad to see BMW finally getting that builder updated. https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-ow...tivity-vehicle |

I noticed that yesterday. There is more info but not sure if it is as user friendly as the old one, could be that I was just used to what was on each step. I would think the 2020s will be showing soon.

I noticed that last night, too. I like it more than the old build site. I am looking at buying a 2020 model this fall so I’m eagerly anticipating the 20s being added to the site.

I also noticed it yesterday. IMO, it is a step forward in building a config over the previous way the configurator was constructed.

Check out the back seats on the X5 configurator. No wrinkles!

I looked at the Lexus site, they have all new designs for 2020. They had several 2020 sedans listed with the “build” link button but it didn’t work.
I would think that BMW will start making changes to build specs before aug 1, so cars ordered in July for 2019 builds might have changes that will stick with the 2020 builds. BMW has already made a lot of changes to the 2019 options since it was available to order in late 2018, correct? My guess is they will continue to tweak the options, well into 2020, based on marketing and pricing strategies. What a nightmare it will be in a few years when people are trying to buy them used.... well, THAT months x was available, but not y, which became available two months later. Sheesh. Also, what happened to tanzanite blue? I was looking at build options for both the X5 and x7 and it was not listed as available for either. Wasn’t that available for a while a month or so ago? I think I even saw some cars on dealer lots in that color? Argh .... |
