High pitched squealing at top speed

Was visiting Germany from the UK and noticed as I reached 130-140 mph there would be a high pitched squeal until I would slow down. Any one in Germany know what it could be ?

What tires came with your car? all season or high performance summer?
did you get option 804 - increased speed limiter>?

Sound seems to hit at 207-208 kmh which is around 130 mph

that is the soft limiter for all season tires./

have you tried accelerating past that?

real limiter is 155 MPH or about 250 kmh

on my x5 50 I do not have the whistle. have 155 MPH limiter . v8 also reaches 130 MPH much faster and cruises there effortlessly. 155 takes some pushing - need a lot of road.

Not tires since I have summer tires and yes I did take it up to 163 mph. It is the windshield glue that has a small pinprick gap.

The problem seems to have been diagnosed and solved. The day before yesterday I picked up my car after visiting a dealer. The windshield was reinstalled. I drove until 205 km / h and so far everything was ok - silence ... So it was confirmed - the problem is the wrongly mounted (too high) windshield.
