How to show odometer in cluster

Is there any way to get the odometer to stay on in the instrument cluster without having it take up a 1/4 of the cluster with a bunch of useless info like individual mileage and factory mileage
All I want is see the current odometer

Stupidly no, although I added a widget to the home screen and set the values to 'ex works' (factory values), and now I have an odometer that doesnt take up 1/4 the gauge cluster.

I believe you can also put it on a widget on the center console screen.. The last time I checked that was just to make sure I was past break in.

I tried this today, wanting to add a widget on one screen displaying 'ex works', with a widget on a different screen displaying individual. What I found was that one is limited in selecting the content of the widget to "trip data", so that the widget displays whichever trip data is selected, ending up with both widgets showing the same thing.

Is there anyway to have one widget display 'ex works' trip data while another simultaneously displays individual trip data?

No, the widget in the IC or the display will always show the information for the data bucket that is currently selected.

Audi keeps an odometer on the top of their screen - I loved that. The way the X5 handles it is dumb. Hopefully a software update will fix it. They really do not make great use of the LCD dash.

Suggest everyone complain to their genius. At some point BMW may get the message.
This is so easy to fix in a software update - but will be a battle to get their attention......

Yes, just hit the BC on the stalk and it shows up on the cluster. It is on the right top area where information changes.

I missed it too but now I find myself wondering exactly why I felt I needed to see it all the time anyway, other than it's always been there.

The car tells me when it needs something with plenty of time to schedule an appt. There's a great trip computer...And the odometer is easy enough to find different ways if I just absolutely have to know.

I let go of the 1900's and don't miss it anymore

If you're leasing or have any warranty items relating to mileage, you definitely need and want to see the odometer all the times.

This lack is a BMW design defect, no question. Eventually, they will be sued over this by someone that missed a financially-sensitive mileage milestone and I won't shed a tear for them.

Mileage doesn't change that drastically on a day to day basis unless you have an insane commute - in which case leasing isn't a wise decision. Most ppl drive 12-15k miles per year. Check the odometer every month or so to see how you're trending. Personally I never look at the odometer - maybe every once in a while simply out of curiosity. So I'm glad it's not taking up valuable real estate on my cluster. My car tells me when it needs service, and I know i generally need the service every 8 or so months.

Because there’s hardly any empty space for it now? The thing is far from busy at present. There’s plenty of space to include a basic function like an odometer.
