If you finance, you could always finance through bmw then pay it off or refi with your lender of choice a few months in. I've seen a lot of ppl on here doing that.

I am a little bit confused at this point about the incentives...will they get better in December, will they not?

Odds are they will stay the same but anything could happen.

They won't get worse for sure. Now the question is will they remain the same or will they get better?

If you ordered now then it won’t be delivered until December at earliest and you’d be able to choose the better incentives, right?

I asked about this as I will place my order this month.

BMW (Canada) has a rate protection guarantee for a certain period (ask your SA). So if you order now and your rate protection goes until January, then you could technically pick the best rate out of Nov/Dec/Jan. Bit of strategy involved as if you dealer has the car in stock on en route then they may not be willing to hold onto it. I am placing a custom order so I know the car likely won't be in for a couple months.

I’m in the same boat. Looking to place order this month which will give me 2 chances for the rates to get better, but if they don’t I won’t regret it. Not sure how much they can really get than this month, and even an add’l $1000 off won’t make or break a deal on a car that’s already close to $80k lol.

I'm calling some dealers now, 6cyl sport/premium and a couple little options $69.6k msrp, I'll see if I can get $63k selling price and the $1250 loyalty added after without a padded money factor

shooting for 10% off msrp right?

For performance delivery order
$70,595 including $995 destination charge, first dealer offered -$3595 plus what ever rebates

Doc fee $459
Reg $180

I am just about to pull the trigger again with BMW of San Antonio and get a great deal again from them. Josh Barazza is the man again for me there.

Thanks. I was also looking in BMWUSA site but couldn't locate the info. The bmw site is fairly confusing.

And if I interpret those right, if a dealer says he is discounting the car 4K, he hasn't done me any favors. He hasn't discounted it at all as 3250 and 750 is 4K.

Good practice is to separate dealer discount from incentives. The dealer may try to combine them to make it look like you're getting a great deal overall, but always aim to negotiate on the pre-incentive discount. So if a dealer is discounting $4k, it needs to be $4k PLUS any incentives you qualify for.

Great advice. To be clear:

Discount: dealership decision and cost (to potential profit from the vehicle).

Incentives: bmw decision, no dealer cost.

More or less yeah. All negotiation happens at the dealer discount. Incentives are simply a question of if you qualify or not. That's why it's important to separate the two.

How long does it take to get your car after the dealer has placed the order? It has been almost three years since I have placed my last one and I have forgotten.

Depends on how many individual options you check off on your order, and if the dealer has any allocations available and/or are willing to trade for an allocation with another dealer if they don't have any.

My first dealer was a dud, but the 2nd dealer I placed the order with was able to get me an allocation right away. Still, I had 3 individual options (ametrin metallic color, extended merino seats, ash grain silver wood trim) and because of that it took a little over 2 months.

The order was placed last night and it is in status 111. I guess that if he didn't have any allocations he wouldn't have been able to place the order, right?

I was looking right now at my order and checking the ordering guide and I don't see anything individual there.

Once you get your production number, call BMW Genius, they should be able to tell you the build week. Listen through the automative updates and get a live rep on the phone.

You should see the status change once it gets scheduled. Not sure if they do that on weekends or not so it may be Monday.
