Drove the 50i last night in the BMW X Road show and saw the X7 too. That 50i was a blast to drive, cant wait for the X5M because it'll be really good....

Garage List
I am currently leasing a 2016 BMW X5M, which I picked up back in June 2016 down in SC at the BMW Performance Delivery Center, while also partaking in their M-School option. I have thoroughly enjoyed driving this SUV, after having leased a 2014 BMW M6 Coupe. I currently have around 55,000 miles on my X5M and it has been a dependable daily driver, as well as a wonderful long-hauler loaded with luggage for various vacations and road trips.

Technically, my 3-year lease expired at the end of May 2019, but I extended it by four (4) months. I also purchased additional lease miles for what I anticipate putting on the vehicle for those additional four months. Since my extended lease will now expire at the end of September 2019, does anyone here have actual knowledge and not just speculation, of when ordering may begin and a production number assigned for acquiring, (purchase or lease), of a new 2020 BMW X5M? I really am hoping I can place my order in Sept. 2019 with an expected delivery date sometime in November 2019. Is this wishful thinking....???

I currently own a M5Comp. Great car, but recently got a growing puppy Vizsla so I'm gonna need a bit more room. Has anyone seen a price point for the X5M's?

Does anyone know why the 2020 X5M is not being talked about (i.e., press, marketing, etc...)? They’ve released a bunch of new vehicles and the ‘19 X5 has been out now for over a year now.

Based on the previous generation, the press release was out 6 months after the press release of the X6 which is generally 1 year after the x5. Since we got the press release of the G06 X6 I would assume that the official reveal would be between sep - Jan

My guess is that the X5M and the X6M will make a cameo appearance sometime mid-2020, as a 2021 model.

I wonder if they will be on the road by next April, hopefully so as I'll need a new car.

DanX5M & Laki021 :

Last Friday and Saturday, when I attended the IMSA Northeast Grand Prix race at the Lime Rock Park race track in CT, I spoke with a number of BMW NA representatives at the BMW Fan Zone where they had the 2020 BMW X3 Competition and X4 Competition on display.

When I asked one of the senior BMW NA executives , I was told that the 2020 BMW X5M and X6M will both have their debut at the Los Angeles Automobile Show, called AutomobilityLA, on November 21, 2019. Vehicles will be delivered to Dealers and customers in the first quarter of 2020.

With this information, I will probably just purchase my current 2016 BMW X5M at the end of my extended lease at the end of Sept. Back in Jan. I purchased a BMW extended warranty, as well as extended maintenance plan, so I have some protection from that, along with peace of mind. This way, I will probably wait until the fall of 2021 to trade in my current X5M for a 2021 BMW X5M, which will hopefully have addressed and fixed any first year bugs or issues that are almost always discovered with the early production vehicles.

So even with the new Competition model it might make sense to purchase a Dinan exhaust system upgrade?
depends how it sounds. The M5 Comp sounds good but lacks the true throat of other V8's. You can't always make up for lack of displacement ie the 4.4L will never sound like a 6.2L V8 but it can come close with a proper exhaust
Well somehow the AMG models displace 4.0L and sound sick! Much better than bmw's

My dealer info sheet shows SOP at November 2019 with possible early cars in December. Hope that helps. I am waiting on a m8 so probably a year before I get a new X5M.
