Electric 12 V cool box on road trip

I am planning a road trip and our 12 V cool box would always work for the duration of our trip in our previous ICE vehicle and assume it ran off the engine.

Does anyone know if the cool box will work via the 12 v socket once the 50 e hybrid batttery is depleted ?

Yes of course if the engine is running.

you’re asking if the cool box will stay powered while you’re driving and the HV battery is depleted?

yes, because the HV battery never depletes**, only the usable capacity is expended, but once that happens, the vehicle automatically charges and maintains a minimum level of ~6% in Adaptive drive mode (~20% in Sport drive mode) throughout the rest of the drive. you may get more charge if there are opportunities to regenerate such as going downhill

**you may want to search “high voltage battery depleted” and read the plethora of threads over the last 5 years explaining how this doesn’t happen because the vehicle is engineered that way

On pretty much all BMWs, though, the 12vdc accessory sockets turn off after a delay, so while they will work fine WHILE the vehicle is in ready state (i.e., your driving it), they do NOT stay on after you shut it off (about 16-minutes or so).
