F32 Side Vents

Does anyone know how to remove the side vents (boomerang) off the 435i m sport?

I wanna replace mine with the carbon fiber ones.

Thanks!

One of mine was loose at the end so I pushed it in and it clicked into place. I believe they're connected using clips so maybe pulling it off will remove it but idk if it'll damage the clips. I wouldn't try it until someone else confirms

be careful as the tabs break easily.

I got a set of trim removal tools from harbor freight that makes most jobs like this much easir.... Good luck in your customising. Now my side vent look like they belong.

Use a soft long plastic spatula to get behind the tabs and pull gently to build some force against re-swap-in of the tabs. Once both released, you should be able to pull the part out of the fender. Pay special attention when inner tabs are coming out, that they'll not scratch your paint onto the fender when they bend outwards.

Adding some painters tape around the work area help with this.

As you're likely looking for a cosmetic mod and not the weight reduction of carbon fiber, you might consider wrapping the vents you have in CF vinyl wrap. This would cost less than $10 and takes ~30 minutes.

I did my vents and mirror shells in metallic anthracite grey for $16.

Overlay

Try the overlay its reversable and a bit less costly plus you wont take the chance of breaking the origonals.
