All looks good then, nothing fishy with the fees, MF is not marked up, all calculates to the payment they are quoting (damn 10.1% tax that sucks!!).

So deal looks good, discount isn't great at 4% but if you have limited dealers and that is as good as you can get to, then it is what it is unless you want to order out of state and deal with the extra hassle etc to save another 2-3%.

Good luck with it!

To answer your specific questions:

Yes, 6% off MSRP (not including $995 destination, PLUS $2,000 for financing with BMW is not impossible. The $2,000 is a rebate from BMW and does not come out of the dealer's pocket. I'm not sure about the launch party rebate. If that's "BMW money" then it doesn't come out of the dealer's pocket either. Also, don't forget you can apply for a $1,000 rebate from BMWCCA after your purchase. Again, doesn't come out of the dealer's pocket.

Are you shopping in stock vehicles or looking to special order?
I think your advice is spot on except one little nit pick: the $995 destination is part of MSRP. When you look at the summary page on the build your own page, MSRP includes the $995. I found that out after the fact because I did my deal at 6% off MSRP and the they give me more off than I had calculated myself. The difference is they included the $995 destination in part of the MSRP so I got 6% off that as well. Small victory, but still a victory

If that doesn't work, you can use the dealer in Maryland (I think) that one of the posters was talking about and have the car delivered to your local dealer. The Maryland dealer will do the deal. Good luck!
The dealer in Maryland told me that the X5 would have to be shipped by truck and there is not an option to have it delivered to a local dealer.

You made an important point there. This dealer has one X5 getting shipped in couple weeks with specs similar to I was looking for. However, other dealers I will have to give them build code.
Thank you for the clarification.

I don't understand this, maybe you are mixing up terms, but if msrp is 82,235 and including discount your dealer wants 84k something seems they are just charging you $4000 more than msrp - I am sure I am misunderstanding it otherwise you have found the most dishonest dealer on the planet.

I figured out your wording - so MSRP is in the 84k range, so they are giving you 2500 off + 2000 APR credit for 4500 total off.

If they are giving you a price of 82235, then MSRP is 84735.

That would be a 3% discount + 2000 APR credit, 3% is a bit light on discount depending on where you are located, look at what others have got.

Passport is giving a better discount if that is without the APR credit, passport can still do the 2k APR credit on top of that if you finance with BMW FS.

yes there are dealers who offer Costco price. go to https://www.costcoauto.com/Default.aspx and use locate a dealer option. there you will find contact person for Costco pricing. approach that person at the dealership. you can print your build on Costco auto program website that will show you invoice and MSRP. if the dealer settles somewhere $500-1000 above the invoice, that's a good deal.
