Just wrote my deal here - 12.4% off MSRP on an order out... I'm thinking (Guessing) the bigger discounts are available on the in stock units?

Anyway, been a Toyota/GM owner my whole life - Simple infrequent service... Some anxiety about the reliability and post warranty costs - But the smell sure is nice!

Contact Ron Hayes - Enterprise BMW Appleton, WI... I didn't buy the unit from him my local dealer matched his price (Same #). Ron did it right out of the blocks - My dealer required some arm twisting. You'll like working with Ron!

The 12.4% was my total after BMW CCA rebate.

Hi. I could not find details or break up on the discount.
Can you please post the details (MSRP, dealer discount, BMW incentives, CCA etc.)

Thanks

Post Resource: Lease Calculator

I've found this thread supremely helpful, so thanks to all who have shared. I'm in the middle of negotiating a lease, and built a spreadsheet to explain it to myself and to my wife how the lease monthly payments work.

Thought I'd share it with you via google docs. If you use google, I recommend you make a copy of the spreadsheet and then you can put in your own numbers into the orange fields.

Experienced folks: what did I miss? Also - would love your feedback on my personal situation below.

Do hope this helps anyone who needs it!

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

My ask to dealer:
MSRP: $76,420
Discount: $5,300 (just under 7%, which seemed fine, but others are getting more now?)
Net Cap cost (with 3K down + 2K BMW FS rebate): $66120
(if residual is 59%, MF is .00165, and tax is 9%...)

Looks like I should be able to get $821/month (per my sheet)? Dealer is saying that's below cost. Don't know that I buy that. Do you think I'm being rational?

Appreciate you all.

There is no $2k rebate with a lease, that is only an incentive for financing. Did the dealer tell you that it was applicable for the lease?

Edit: Just looked at your spreadsheet, you are missing the acquisition fee for the lease as well as any other fees for tags, title, etc. Depending on your tax regs you may also have to pay tax on the initial down payment that is going to cap reduction.

Thanks, that's super helpful. I'll do some more homework and update the sheet.

The rebate is a loyalty one for $1250, sorry switched them, was going to finance, but think we're going electric after this one.

Sounds good. If you want to check your spreadsheet against a lease calculator, I think leasehackr has the best one.

Haha well...that makes much more sense. Somehow I missed that one online. Thanks TB. Go that way, y'all.

Appreciate you all.
You should push for at least 7-8%, ideally 10% but if it's a pain then try to get them down to 70K negotiated price selling price. Every 1K off is about $23-25/month.

Also do not put $3K down aka cap cost reduction. It's throwing money out the window if your vehicle is ever totaled.

Can't recall if BMW MSDs is available on the West Coast because you could put your money towards that which reduces your money factor rate for every SD you make for a total of 7
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...8#post23303712

Vehicle residual is 59% for 10K / year and 58% for 12K / 56% for 15K / year

Also if you're not a BMWCCA member it's a great time time join and get $1K rebate from BMW on your X5 - it's $134 for 3 years

Planning on doing CCA for sure. Think you have one typo in there for residual (15k/yr, not 45K). I emailed to ask SA about MSD's today (will let you know). I agree, I don't really understand putting any money down on the car, based on everything I've heard and read. I'll shoot for 70K. Would love to get sub-900 payments.

Okay, ladies and gentlemen of the jury -- here's what we've landed at. Don't think it's an A-plus deal, but love to hear any final thoughts you have:

Made to order X5 40i Msport:

MSRP: $76420
Discount $70070 (8.3%)

Rebate: $1250
(will do CCA rebate $1000)

Cap cost: $67,820 (11.25% with rebates)

7x MSD
$0 Down

$894 a month including CA taxes. Privately, the goal was sub $900, so I'm pleased.

Very grateful for your help, and looking forward to hearing your thoughts and pulling the trigger. Learning to lease.

Looks good. I was going to go down the MSD for the first time too. For those experts, what happens when the lease is completed? Do most just apply the amount to their next car?

I would assume most apply their current MSD amount to the next vehicle. At this point I'm leaning towards buying my next one rather than leasing so I will just wait for them to send back my deposit.
