What do you mean by "lease protection"? I pick up at the PC early Jan 2021 so lease needed to be signed by 12/31/2020 for the $1000 BMWCA rebate for 2020 as I'm waiting for the 2021 G83 SOP next summer. Only 1 rebate per year. I know my lease numbers after the car is ordered, as the car finished production 3 wks ago. I decline all F&I products as I go self insurance route.

BMW Lease end protection for wear and tear stuff. Usually the same or cheaper $ value as a set of tires at the end of the lease.

Was just curious as this is super close to the deal I just did but I'm about $55 off on the monthly and that's prolly where my deal costs more.

Thanks.

I always self insure as I don't want to deal with the headache of a BS lease end policy. That's close to $2,000 if your off by $55 per month. A set of OEM tires installed at Costco and having 2 rims buffed at end of lease costs me less than the lease end policy. I always factor in a new set of tires 6 months out from lease end as that's how a M car should be driven.

Yeah my math was just rough numbers. I'm sure our deals weren't completely the same. My msrp was closer to $128k. I got the lease protection for about $1500.

I usually mod my rides so if BMW complains bout any of my mods I'll have $6k at the end to play with.

My last 4 leases I've had about $3-$4k worth of wear charges so it's been handy.

Anyway, thanks for the info.

Hi All,

I was given two offers today by two different sales guys / friends too

(Pending Allocation comes in March)
21 X6m Donington Grey - No Comp pkg
MSRP $115
36 m / 10k miles

After discount:
$1490 payment

Upfront cash:
$925 acquisition
$500 dealer fee
$24 temp tag
$300 registration estimate
Total $1749 plus first payment $1490
Total $3239

Second offer: (at the dealership)
21 X6m Donington Grey - w/Comp Pkg
MSRP $127,295
36 m / 10k miles
I mentioned the above deal to my friend, and that I could not go over a $1500 payment

My friend said he would talk to the Mgr
He’s thinking so far:
Upfront cash:
MD tax 6% 7,638
First payment $1500
Not sure on other fees like for the deal above, which is for a different dealership / sales friend

I like the second deal / payment plus the vehicle is available. You think the initial numbers is a good deal?

I just received my lease documents via FedEx, as the poor F&I manager included the products that he tried to sell me over the phone before I cut him off stating that I'm self insured and he [F&I] is wasting his time with me🤣. It appears that the lease end is the difference between our deals, as it's a extra $1.48 per day. MRSP of $1,599.

Personally, only applicable wear and tear would be tires and some rim rash. However, I'm not going to wait until lease end for brand new tires— would rather replace the entire set 6 months from end of lease so the dealership doesn't get a brand new set of tires. Really what the lease end policy is providing the dealership brand new tires to install for the customer who purchases your off lease car. Rim rash repair costs $100 per rim on site outside my house.

I attached the available products, who would purchase Diamond Ceramic protection if leasing, as you get a new paint job every 3 years? That $1,680 offsets P1 ordered individual colors such as Tanzanite which I'm saving for my future G83.

I got the lease end, but didn't know it is good for mods? so what they do, they reinstall stock parts without you paying?

Anyway, thanks for the info.
I got the lease end, but didn't know it is good for mods? so what they do, they reinstall stock parts without you paying?
It's only happened to me once with regards to mods on my M5 but basically they wanted the stock springs back and I no longer had them so got charged $2400 or thereabouts. But that was all included in the lease end.

I do almost always get flagged for tires (go through 2 sets) and windshield replacement. Which more than makes up for it.

I usually mod my rides so if BMW complains bout any of my mods I'll have $6k at the end to play with.

My last 4 leases I've had about $3-$4k worth of wear charges so it's been handy.
