Winter Setup 21/22 Wheels

Hey everyone.

So been checking into wheels, looks like a winter setup is going to be a "rich" one.

thinking 20 or 21" maybe bbs but coming in just at 5K or so that's a heck of a price tag for winters.

Any others find better solutions?

Xccelerate - I'm searching the options for winter set ups and came across both your posts. What size wheels are you running? I currently have the Pirelli Scorpion winters on 20"s. I saw someone else posted a square 21" set up with 295 all around. I'm not thrilled about 21" for winter with that small sidewall. I'd prefer a square 20" on 285 all around but read conflicting posts on whether 20" clear the brakes. The lease on my '19 X6M is up in October and I don't want to get stuck without snows, so checking it out in advance. It would be too much to ask that my current winter set up will fit

Thanks!

I've been very impressed with the Perelli scorpion winters. The truck doesn't seem to slide even when braking not that I am driving aggressive but I am still very impressed with the capabilities of this vehicle being that of its high-performance capability.

no issues with 20" clearing brake calipers, even M Sport ones. in fact 19" just barely clears M Sport brakes, but personally too tight for me

Thank you! Maybe I'll get lucky and my 611s will fit.

How is it with the 21/22 snows? I take it you swap the tires from summers to winters then back on the stock wheel? I'm thinking of doing that in October because buying a winter wheel and tire set is getting expensive and hard to sell whenever I switch cars.

that's what I do, I like seeing the 818M wheels all year long, didn't buy it to keep it in storage for 6mo. Along new set of wheels are expensive and worthless when changing cars. tried it in the past never again. though convenient to swap the wheels yourself for sure

I have driven 4K miles on 21/22 winters and they are perfect

Yes, it's been tough selling wheel and tire sets everytime I switch cars. I'm gonna try just swapping out the tires in Oct. Do all 4 tires fit in the back of the X6?

I guess I’ll find out for myself in October. Thanks for the info.
